Each one has its special advantage and its special drawback: Beam Lasers: damage on the level of short-range weapons // massive powergrid and capacitor costs Heavy/Cruise Missiles: almost inescapable // can't hurt little ships Rail Guns: longest range despite decent tracking // takes ammo AND capacitor Artillery: instapopping // low dps In each case, the major benefit when properly used is enough to get noobs screaming on the forums to nerf it, while its drawbacks are enough to make an underprepared pilot feel gimped if they haven't specced into multi-race ship skills.

And drakes are only special for their EHP. frankly... I cant think of a single time nerfs have been good for the game..... especially since ones that were needed ... the vaga and the domi ... didnt really get nerfed, but a bunch of other things got nerfed around them.

All missiles need a boost in explosion vel and a reduction in sig resolution imo, HMLs the least though.
