Hiya all.
I was wondering if there is any good reason to run low-sec or 0.0 magnetometric professional sites. I used to run lowsec magneto sites before trinity, and all I got was T1 salvage and skill books, the encryption methods the only worthwhile ones.
Now that trinity dropped gallente encryption skillbooks in radar exploration like water, is there any reason to do magnetometric, either in low or nullsec? Or it's completely worthless?

Well, in deepspace you can still get t2 salvage (nice) and faction POS gear (very nice), and if you live in blood raider even the t1 salvage drops are good (lots of melted caps)

in general they arent that profitable..but you can get the odd nice faction pos bpc.
guess good if your bored. (I run them if its all i can find).

I have never found one worth the probes and time in lowsec.
in 0.0 they have better stuff

Salvage you get from salvaging the rats that guard the site, is often better that what's to get from the cans.
I dont bother clearing them anymore.
Dont even have mag probes in my cargohold.

They're fairly worthless, but I'm always glad to see people taking the time to scan them down. Keeps them away from the really profitable explorations that I want to find :p

I actually like them for 0.0 living. Decent amounts of rig components which are always useful. Faction POS BPCs. And the occasional Tech 2 rig BPC at 0 ME. I actually found a CCC rig BPC the other day. At 0 ME that's a sizable saving on tech 2 rig parts to the tune of around 50 mil.
So yeah, I would say they are worth running. |
