True, but there is a major skill gap between a Covetor and a Battleship.
Haladas guide doesn't assume the maximum mining fittings for the Battleships.
I mine well over 4000m3 per 3 mins with my Rokh, having most stuff to the max, which is Mining V, Astrogeology V, 4 MLU II's, 8 Modulated Deep Core Miner II's with T2 Crystals and some mining drones. (as well as some cheap 1% mining bonus I found).
Lets do math :P
Covetor can fit 3 Strip Miners and a Modulated Strip Miner II with T2 crystals mines 630m3 per 3 min cycle.
Thats 1890m3 base for a Covetor with T2 crystals.
Assuming Mining V and Astrogeology V you mine 2953.125m3 per cycle.
Adding the bonus for the Mining Barges (1.15) you get 3396,09m3 per cycle.
With 2 MLU II's (1.09 * 2) it becomes 4007,39m3.
Add implants and drones as you see fit.
My Rokh with 8 Modulated Deep Core Miner II's and the same bonuses would result in:
120 * 175 = 210m3 per miner
210 * 8 = 1680m3 per cycle
1680 * 1.25 * 1.25 = 2625m3
2625 * 4 MLU II's = 3570m3
Adding drones and implant I mine around 4200m3 per cycle (I do have to cycle my miners as not to flood my cargo but a single miner load/yield fits).
Yes its less without drones but a Covetor requires a lot more skill to get (Mining Barge V & Astrogeology V), as well as the fact that Rokh can take ten times more punishment then any Mining Barge (although it ain't as cheap).
On a side note, I could always switch my Rokh with weapons and make it a big bad Battleship :P
Actually the covetor will mine 4034,89 m3 per cycle.
The Rokh will mine 3705,40 m3 per cycle.
It's a no brainer the Covetor is a better miner, and costs 20mil versus, 130mil for a Rokh? If you bothered to train the for the Crystals, which for 0.0 crystals, takes as long as getting Mining Barge V, I really don't see why you would not be in a Covetor, if not a Hulk (same price as a Rokh) since you're already skilled fo it.
Plus, I've tanked Blasteranises in a Gisti Hulk with proper rigs.
I don't deny the Rokh is an awesome BS mining platform, but saying it outperforms the Covetor, I diagree with.
