I'm looking into getting myself a quiet and calm cottage in a nice dead-end system to use for my personal needs and occasional NPC hunting.
What's my options?

Will you bring your veldnaught? If so, I know a good dead end system - provided we get the occasional gift can. The calm lonely cottage prices are on the rise though - so be quick!

Try out the Great Wildlands, contact someone in Foundati0n (TrojanFresh is a diplomat). There are still hostiles to FDN in GW, but there are lots of systems that noone goes into, and are placed in nice and quiet pipes, such as the LXTC pipe. There may be occassional "-V- and allies" gangs roaming, but there is a intel chat for that sort of information, and you should have plenty of time to warp to a POS.

I think you just described our space very well, Chribba. We can offer untouched systems, full of the finest Veld types, nestled behind a Refinery system in a dead-end Constellation.
Just look up Rule of Three alliance space and take a gander. The only place quieter in Eve is Jove space!
