Okay, so I'm looking at flying a Different ship (I've heard the saying don't fly something you can't replace)and need some advice. I have a few ships in mind and would like to get people's input on each and what the right choice would be. Using Evemon, here is my list of ships with approximate training times:
Covert Ops 28 days
Black Ops 115 days
Marauder 145 days
Any advice would be great as well as opinions for other ships. Thanks to all

well we need a bit more information than this.
Are skill time needed to fly the ship effeciently included?
What you intend to do?

Sorry...yes, My cloaking skill is at 5 and my electronics skills (Electronic Warfare, propulsion jamming, target disruption...)are nearly all 4. Also, my gunnery skills (Large Hybrid turret, Motion Prediction, Rapid Firing, Surgical Strike...) are also all at 4. To sum things up, I have trained the skills needed to fly the ships effectively or will have trained them by the time I start flying the ship (hope that makes sence). I really like flying battleships, however, a change of pace would be nice. I want to be able to fly into low sec space and not be particularly worried about being ganked within the first 5 minutes. I am hoping to eventually set up a corp in low sec and need a way to get around and fight effectively.

A Cov Ops is a very good way nowadays to cruise through low sec. I can't say anything about Marauders or Black Ops apart from what you can also read in the forums. But they seem a tad overpriced for their limited use (especially Black Ops).
I'd say go for CovOps.
And if you are german, I'd even know a friendly low sec based corp for you
