Righto, all pirates out there, give me some good question(s) for the next CSM meeting. I know nothing about your profession so tell me, what would you like to see? What would help you? And no *****ing because then I'll have to slap you :-)

will there be any NPC content for pirates put in the game? (convoys are useless, profit-less and overall ghey) what kind of tools are pirates going to get if the developers want us to "pirate properly" what is the dev's position on safespots in general, and the broken F11 safespot is it possible to develop a good "ransoming" system?

I believe there is much more to it than simple features and hotfixes. The most necessary part is needing the ability to toll travelers, but even I would agree it's the last step in a greater process.
It all stems from low sec empire space. The first thing that needs to be done is to balance minerals and commodity to make 0.4 - 0.1 worth the risk for corps to inhabit the areas. Secondly, sec status needs to be fixed via criminal flagging to allow pirates to be attacked by bounty hunters and neutrals. The third step would then be to remove sentry from 0.4 to 0.1--this should come at the point that corps are active in low sec empire, so that there is an active flow of piracy vs travel vs bountyhunting. Players here should learn to take care of their assets in small-scale war (fighting pirates is small scale in comparison to alliance warfare in 0.0), and pirates should be able to frequently relocate its operations as a result of being chased off. ______________

what he said, because there is not always traffic in 0.0 and it would be nice to have something else to do
Plus
What are they going to do about negative security status gain I will keep harrassing every1 about the above issue

Would the warp to ship module that they've been talking about be any help in pirating? And maybe a defense module against to hide from those pesky bounty hunters?
Hmm... ransoming in what way?
Sara Kerrigan
TomB has been positive to both a way to disrupt jump gates and maybe lowering the anchoring time of the mobile warp disruptors. Will these boost the ability to toll people?
And if you had the power to decide, how would the criminal flaggin work?
Tenacha Khan
Acording to TomB the security issue will be fixed in the next patch.
Just an idea, may be **** poor because I haven't really thought it through, but what about NPC bounty hunters in low sec space?

Mobile warp disruptors and the gate disruptions are for 0.0, where there is 1.) no traffic 2.) no active flow of trade goods. So those don't really help. Low sec empire is where piracy should be, with blocking trade routes and all that good stuff. ______________

If the sentry guns where removed from the lower sec part of empire space then? Would they be more usefull then?

Yes it would. But of course that can't come until other things are cleaned up, as were mentioned in my first post. ______________

Edited by: XpoHoc on 26/03/2004 02:06:05 Once upon a time there were some people out there called traders. They have shipped goods (trade goods, no minerals or anything else "useful") all around the galaxy. The most profitable trade routes were out in 0.0 space and risking many millions of isk most times payed out and if not then it payed out for the pirate who caught him on the way back.
I would like to see a change in the trade goods distribution, the current state seems to kill trade.
The security status problem is well known and Tenacha is responsible for that issue ;)
Adding "content" for pirates would be great aswell, as I don't have any interaction with NPCs at all, no agents, no npc convoys out in 0.0 and I really don't like to kill my fellows the NPC pirates.
Also the bounty system isn't working the way it is atm. It seems like people have the attitude not to place a bounty on your head at all (in 0.0, got my bounty from 0.3 systems). I think it's because 1. they don't trust the system, they think we get us killed by friends to get that cash 2. if you just killed/ransomed them, they don't want to lose any more money on you. I think the option to place bounties on someones head is ok, but there should be some kind of automatical bounty(maybe CONCORD) for each time you kill someone (depending on ship class and if podded or not).
That's all I can think of atm.
