Edited by: Tank CEO on 26/03/2004 01:53:18 Ok Guys first, lets take a look at the stats of a Warp Core and a Warp Disruptor
Warp Core Stabilizer I
Fitting 30 CPU 3 PowerGrid
Skill Requirements Navigation I Warp Drive Operation I Low Slot
*COMPARED TO*
Warp Disruptor I
Fitting 40 CPU 10 PowerGrid Medium Slot
Skill Requirements Propulsion Jamming I Navigation II Electronics III
Now, does some 1 see something wrong with this picture? As I might recall, if you will take Electronic Warefare for example (ECM). It is as always has, been more difficult to counter a jam then it was to actually jam (target) a person.
Now we take Warp dis vs Warp Core into question. Is it easier to counter a warp dis then it is to actually dis a person? Yes it is. Is this right, im my honest opinion, NO. This falls under Electronic warefare. Electronic Warefare (target jamming) is harder to counter then it is to jam. Why isnt this the same with Warp Disruptors?
Now lets look at the stats. A warp dis requires more skills training and more fitting then a warp core.... This CANT be right. It is toooooo EASY to counter a warp dis. So here is my suggestions.
You can either do this:
1. Warp Cores have a strength of only +.5 or +.75 instead of +1 and the requirements for fitting and skills stay the same.
2. Warp Cores have a strenght of +1 BUT do not have the same requirements for fitting and skills, but require double of the warp DIS requirements
EX: 80 CPU, 20 MW, Electronics 4, Navigation 4, Warp Drive Operation 4
*OR*
3. Warp Disruptors have a strength of -2 and Scramblers of -3.
I find this to be a very valid point and im not being SELFISH at all and it goes both ways for EVERYONE. I Personally like the first option I chose for a new attribute for the overpowered warpcore. ---

of course, you chose to omit in the first part of your post that Warp Stabilizers only have a strength of one. To counter a single Warp Scrambler, I already have to use up 2 of my low slots.
The difficulty in countering a warp disrupt is not in skills, it's mainly in having enough low slots open to fit a decent amount of them.
This post is just *slightly* biased, don't you think? --------------------- Syncore - Security Officer Xetic/IF Member Eve-I.com spammer |

I tend to agree ... counter scrambling should be an artform requiring dedicated training (with a minimum of equal training requirements to prop jamming).
Perhaps scrambling and counter scrambling will end up based on a percentage based system rather than point stacking anyway.

I have a better idea, make the warp stabs better so that it only takes one to unscrambe a drive. I mean, lets look at this from a realistic standpoint. If you are making a device to protect yourself, would you make it weak enough that it means you have to mount two? Heck no.
So increase the strength. Stop giving us wimpy stabs and giving the pirates uber scramblers.
Better yet, give us an option that allows us, when attacked by a known pirate to select whether or not we want to be bothered. If we want to have our day ruined and lose our stuff then we can select ok, if we don't then we select the sorry button and they can stand at the gate all upset.
We need a 3rd button too. One that is designed to even the playoing field from those pirates attacking defenseless law abiding citizens. A button that says, pirate in battleship, has attacked player in shuttle. A clearly one sided affair, and an obvious attempt to gank someone and not engage in real PvP. Please click here to self destruct pirate ship, pirate clone, disable his insurance, and permenantly send him to a nice 0.0 system surrounded completely by 1.0 systems with extra gate guards and enough roid respawn to support a small frigate construction opperation.

Edited by: DampJim on 26/03/2004 12:07:40 What seems to be the problem here?? Shouldnt the noobs have some mean to defend themself against pirates. Ok Tank u have right in some ways that it should be easier to warp dis someone BUT why dont make it like this:
A battleship is easier to warp dis. cause of its size and cause it already is slow. A cruiser will be a little harder. and a frigate VERY hard to warp dis. and shuttles impossible to warp dis
Pods should be easy to distrupt cause its only a pod......
this way we will loose some catecampers only killing noobs ------------------------------------------ Reallife.dll is not found.....
