Hi,
Everytime I try logging into eve and press connect it freezes up for at least 3 minutes or more, takes forever untill it then logs in. You used to be able to delete cache or delete the machonet folder. Wtf must I do now? This is beyond irritation.

Go get something to eat? Drink? Pet your cat/dog? Alt-Tab out to the internet? Look at your killboards? Crunch numbers in a spreadsheet? It's 3 minutes. You'll be ok.

my main, very fast PC does this for the first login, if I haven't launched the client in some period. 2nd client I launch gets in faster.
Seems to hang for 1-2 minutes right before "processing bulk data" and it really chokes up the box to some extent for that period.
Thats running either the advanced client or with expanded content disabled.
The old athlon XP sitting 3 feet to the left logs in in about 10 seconds.
this is on a good cable connection. Have tried disabling a bunch of stuff (not running torrents or anything) with not much success.

after every DT it will take longer the 1st time. .. but 3 mins is long - if you are on dialup then that is what I was getting. If not on dialup - you need to check what bandwidth you have avaialble

I can confirm that there is an issue with this. I have heard it from many people ingame, and it has been mentioned on the forum a couple of times.
It seems to be random computers and has nothing at all to do with connection speed. When I start up EVE for the first time on the computer, nothing happens. It will keep going like that until I open EVE again, which will cause both clients to open immediately (no matter if I waited 1 min or 10 min before).
After that the first log on (after computer restart) will take several minutes.

I get that as well.
I also have Eve get completely locked up at Authenticating for about a minute, then it blurs through the rest of the stuff and ends up at character selection. -----sig-starts-here------
