Deuteronomy 7:2 and 1 Samuel 15:3. These commandments ligitimize genocide and a disturbing lack of mercy for the enemies of god's people.
"And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them"
"Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass."
May our enemies be like grain in the field. May they fall as easily to our weapons as the grain to the scythe. May our Heavenly Father see our cause and judge us right. Our rage has been stirred. May all our enemies before us fear and cowar under our wrath.
Now is our time for victory.

Lucian, I mean this in the friendliest way but for someone who just got their alliance's ass handed to them on a plate for a few weeks maybe I'd be wary about posting prophecies of doom about other alliances imminent downfall.

Edited by: Lara Renquist on 18/02/2008 10:52:42 Times are changing, but then again they are not, we had wars before and we will have wars in the future. The only thing that makes this war "special" is the fact that it's against BoB.
To many people jumped the bandwagon just beqause of this(incident).
In the end all powers shift, old powers die, new powers rise, and even in some cases the oldest powers will emerge again. That being said i suspect bob to be here for a while and even if the fortress collapses they will still have homes and shelters if needed. Not everyone is anti-BoB and some people will defend them fiercly if needed.

Last I recall, bob was fighting the coalition with large portions of 0.0. The only reason the coalition now inhabits most of 0.0 is because they have picked off bob's allies one by one and have taken multiple regions off of bob's hands.

I could let this comment pass through in blank, because this is a thread for gaming purposes only, but I won't. Please mate, donÆt use the word of God to justify any kind of violence, remember the words of Jesus Christ, the most powerful prophet of the Mighty God and His beloved son: ôAnd one of them, versed in the Law, asked, testing him: ôTeacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?ö He said to him: ôæYou must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind.Æ This is the greatest and first commandment. The second, like it, is this, æYou must love your neighbor as yourself.Æ On these two commandments the whole Law hangs, and the Prophets.ö (Matthew 22:35-40). If you follow these two main commandments left by Jesus, or at least try hard to do it you could hate somebody at the point to harm you neighbor? If you hate somebody, are you following the two commandments left by Jesus, that were talking by the will of God? And more important that all of these thingsàthese two commandments legitimate genocide? You are taking from the context of the situation of the Israel that time. And the orders were directed delivered by God to the Israel that time to survive as people against their neighbors that were hostile to them, in that time that it was a harsh time, and the people of Israel didnÆt have the conscience and knowledge available that we have today, were in grave danger, that could lead to complete destruction of Israel, denying the knowledge of the True God that we have now. Is only needed to search for the true knowledge todayÆs days. But in that time they didnÆt had much knowledge of the way of God to do the things, and God was in need to show up to His people that His people was blessed by Him, because they had accepted God as their savior and by the sake of His own Name (Jehovah). Remember that ôHe that does not love has not come to know God, because God is love.ö (1 John 4:8). God himself will take control of the situation with His son Jesus when the time is come. Religion means: ôreconnection with Godö, how you can reconnect yourself with God defending genocide without His direct sanction? About the lack of mercy, generalizing the issue, at least was the impression left by you, and this is dangerous and anti-biblical. You must be unfair with someone that seems guilty and in true is not. You must review your concepts, read ALL the Bible, please.
I ask please that the CCP let this thread here opened, even being a issue non-related with the theme, due the grave distortion (intending to do it or not) of words of God that leads to justify the non-sense violence in the world based in difference of the races/religions. Remember that some people can't make much difference in words written to gaming purposes and real world purposes. Thank you in advance.

What every pod pilot needs to accept is that BoB has lost everything but their "real" homes. They have NPC stations, they have lived in Delve, have their massive logistical infrastructure here and they have massive turnouts because (1) it's their home and (2) they have everyone and their allies in a handful of systems (2000+allies in a handful of systems is still a couple hundred per system). They're also fighting a defensive war, which means they can sit around and wait for us to come to them.
The Delve campaign is going to be long, it's going to be hard: but it will keep going until the Coalition takes Delve. BoB continue to pat themselves on the back saying it is taking 80% of EVE to remove them, but the fact of the matter is see a handful of alliances actually coming out day after day, week after week, op after op. That's Razor, IAC, RA, TCF and GS. Even then those alliances have huge amounts of podpilots which aren't at the front lines. Ultimately, BoB outnumber our pilots more often than not in their own primetime.
To set the record straight, this war is about removing BoB from their conquerable 0.0 homes. We're not here to kill their alliance, while that would be awesome, and we're not here to drive them from 0.0 or announce any of the bull which was DBPreacher.
BoB holds dear to their K/D ratio, and so they should: the one element of the game they can say their winning. They are killing tons of us, but we keep going. But something must be said here also: they only deploy capitals behind the safety of a cynojammer. They dare not enter siege if the jammer is down, if they even dare to log in at all. They use multiple titans to defend their jammers, for they know that when it falls it is the end of a system.
The war has raged for more than a year now, and in that time BoB have lost all but Delve and their ego's, the latter will take far more than the weapons of New Eden can dish out to even scratch. This war will end when the coalition has acheived what it wants to achieve.

So basically you dont care if BOB remain the single most powerful group in New Eden, as long as you can find an excuse to claim victory about?

This thread above must be deleted too, why it didn't? The guy refers to religion texts, to "prove" a point of view. A false one btw. I demand this referred thread deletion too, or allow to keep my previous thread replying these lies (legitimation of genocide and lack of mercy). Do you will delete this thread too, huh Saint? I was only replying the thread quoted above. In time, the BOB alliance did a good job holding field against several alliances fighinting togheter against one enemy, simply because they are too competent in the battlefield. Congratulations BOB, even losing, you guys are fiercing fighters. You BOB have my respect.

BoB may lose in this war. They probably will, too. But goons are the most ambitious gamers I have ever seen. When one enemy falls, another is found. Soon GOONS will find itself at the top, but lonely. And the bottom will climb up from all sides and down they will go. Not easily, and not quickly. Goons will always fight to the end. BoB will rise up as one of many clamboring to destroy Goons, and the fight for 0.0 will start anew.

I respect BOB for their ability to bring the numbers and win, if not for their attitude. While their killboard stats don't always tell the truth, they do have a higher K/D ratio than us. Now that they are fighting in their home region, we are paying a heavy price for every system we take. The war is entering a state of attrition, but we will keep going until they are beaten.
Then we'll find something else to fight about. Per Ardua ad Astra - Through Adversity, to the Stars

Its so hard at times to tell which of the bob excuse posts is my favorite. I'm pretty sure the top two are "You are not winning fast enough" and "BoB is all alone against a huge blob of alliances", but the second one definitely has an edge by going beyond simply untrue to the realm of blatantly untrue. BoB is not now, nor have they ever been, alone and attempting to spin the dual sins of failing to protect your allies while simultaneously driving both neutrals and allies into the Coalition camp as some kind of glorious us-against-the-world heroic last stand is perhaps the most hilarious part of this war.

BOB play the game for the fights, not for diplomacy and certainly not for napfest handholding.
Some of the leaders are arrogant asses but find me any alliance of significance where this is not the case. IMO Goon arrogance far surpasses anything BOB could ever bring.
So few remember the old days before the first Goon forum ban(self imposed)...well lets just say things were not pretty.
As long as BOB are enjoying their fights they will always exist as an 0.0 entity. The outcome of the current war however is almost a foregone conclusion: BOB will lose its space(probably). But if you think that that will be enough to destroy the corps within BOB think again. Anyone intending to actually live and try to make isk in Delve after the dust settles will have their work cut out for them.
The example of both Goons and RA rising from the ashes after having their butts whipped seems not to have sunk in. LV made the mistake of not following through after getting the reds back to one system and they paid the ultimate price for that. I am not even sure that that would have been enough to kill RA. To be honest LV never was the cohesive unit that BOB is and the very best of them are all in BOB now anyway. Lets just say the game was different back in those days(not just the POS/Titan Nerfs either) Alliances could live in 0.0 while spread pretty thinly and that made for less tight alliances with less central control.
To sum up, my point is this: Will BOB lose its space? 99% sure they will. Will this be enough to kill them and prevent them from making a comeback? 99% sure it wont. Any now a word from our sponsors...

I'm just playing for 1 1/2 year but as far as I know is that BoB was involved in the Great Nothern War and helped get Phoenix Alliance onto his knees, after this they challenged ASCN and finaly won also the Great Southern War and again brought a great alliance to it's knees. So as far as I can conclude BoB is very skilled and dedicated warmachine that will not be easely stopped let alone be defeated.
BoB somewhat resembles the great Roman Empire in my opinion. They have far better skills and tactics resulting in a far more effective army. And as the Roman Empire they also believe that the best defence is a good offence. And I don't doubt both lost many battles I can't remember them ever losing a war.
It was not a superiour force that finally put an end to the reign of the great Roman Empire, it was the old ways that got forsaken and new leadership that became overconfident, laxity and negligence that became their downfall. So eventually all great empire fall, but first they must crumble and although BoB is losing some ground I've see their numbers growing the last year so I guess the end of them could be a very long distant event, but I doubt it will be in the near future.
REMEMBER ROMANS RULED US FOR MORE THEN A THOUSAND YEARS AND SO WILL BAND OF BROTHERS. VENI VIDI VICI ..
ps: I'm not a BoB alt, I just admire their skills in battle.

Self policing at its most noble? Is this an attempt at irony? Virtually every corp in empire space of any decent size has had to deal with the effects of the recent Goon Jihadswarm of suicide ganking. Whatever moral high ground there was to pimp-slap BoB with got hauled away by Goons to a trash heap because of their own high drama. Noble causes run out of gas when you just become another type of evil you rose up to oppose. Preach to yourself brother, the Goons have created the best advertisement for a current generation of players moving out from empire to take up arms not against BoB but against yourselves.

I went to a job interview as a GM for an upcoming MMORPG, and they asked me what i would do if a friend wanted me to help them out with freebies or exp. I replied, "well, i don't know if you guys know much about EvE..."
Interviewer 1 responds "Oh god, the BoB thing..."
Sage nods from the other two guys from said MMORPG AND the employment agency rep who looked like he never took off his suit. THIS is why BoB will always be stained, because even if they get totally crushed, destroyed, disbanded, and two years from now re-emerge, their will still be people talking about the "incident".
Oh, i got the job, thanks for helping out BoB :)
