You need standings with each of the Caldari corps, not with the Caldari faction.

Doesn't faction standing also increase standing for coprorations of that faction? In other words, if my Caldari faction is 2.1, shouldn't my starting faction with all Caldari corporations also be 2.1?

Yes and no. For agents you'd have the 2.1 standing which allows you to use most Level 2 Caldari agents. However it won't affect your refining tax rate or access to jump clones; those are corp-dependent.

You should have access to Level 4 agents with every corp though, so it shouldn't take you too long to build standing with an individual corp or two.
I'm not sure why you need to make JCs with every corp though. Just make your JCs with one corp and move them around. Even with Infomorph Psychology V you can only have 5 JCs and I doubt there are too many people who bother.
Personally I have a maximum of 3 JCs on any of my characters, but usually 1 or 2 suffice.
Getting a 6.67 standing for refining taxes with a few corps makes some sense, but 8.0 for JCs doesn't seem worthwhile.

They probably have a station near you, anywhere in the eve-verse. I'd say is a good bet on getting corp standing up and having access to ALOT of JCs all over the place. Run some Lvl 4s to quickly get a 8.0 corp standing.

Before you commit to a corp to grind standings for a jump clone, be sure you also check to be sure they have med facilities. It would stink to get 8.0 standings and find that there are no med bays to install a clone.

Got a question, figure it can go here as opposed to starting a new topic.
I have returned from a long absence and when I left there was no such thing as a jump clone. So trying to figure this out, I have searched and can't seem to find the answer.
OK, I got a good standing with a corp and I install a jump clone. I am out somewhere else and want to jump back. I go to a station, open med tab and jump to my clone. This how it works? Now a clone is now installed where I jumped from right? Do I have to have an 8.0 standing with the corp I jump from?
Please feel free to correct all my errors.

No, you don't have to have any standing with the station you jumped from. It's how people get jump clones in Empire easily.

IIRC - You don't even need a medical bay - jumping is done from your character sheet. I've got JCs spread over the Eve-verse and I'm sure I've jumped from stations without med facilities, you only need the med-bay to create the JC in the first place.
