Hi, I just had an idea about the ability to recycle Skill Points for a toon.
I have some unwanted Skill points in my sheet that I don't want. Some of it the toon was born with, others was trained by the previous owner for some reason. Will it be possible to recycle Skill Points for a toon for a price?
What I had in mind is that you can for instance recycle a maximum of say 2,048,000 SP per year, and by doing that you lose 10% of the Skill Points you want to recycle. You can also only recycle a complete Skill. For instance if you have Amarr Cruiser on V, you have to recycle all 1,280,000 SP, and lose 10% of the SP.
The second suggestion is to get bonuses on specialized Certificates. A certificate means nothing at this stage, why canGÇÖt we make it count for something in the game. My proposal is that when you claim a certificate like Core Competency, Frigate Projectile turrets, or Fleet Co-ordinator (A Certificate that combines a lot of other Certificates), you receive a bonus on something related to the certificate. Like on the Turrets, you receive a 1%, and 5% for Standard and Elite on Frigate projectile turret damage for example. If there is an Improved certificate a 3% bonus. This way people will claim their certificates to get the bonuses, and that brings me to the next part.
This can all tie in then with the Recycling of Skill Points then. If you already claimed a certificate for a skill that you have, you can only recycle it for a 25% or 30% penalty in SP, and lose the certificate of course, and lose the bonus related to that certificate group. This will make for interesting gaming, and that older toons can get rid of their industry skills if they are core PvP pilots.
Hope this makes sense. Lets see if something will come of it. |

It has been discused here over hundred times ... please use a search function or at least look few pages back before posting same ideas over and over again.
No SP relocation. In EVE your choices have consequences. If you trained something you no longer want, you must live with it.
Certificates are there to help newbies to know what to train for or what will help them most for this ship etc. Also your idea for cert bonus would only deeper the diference between fully skilled char and newbie with level 4 skills. |

Just NO.
The overwelming majority of players would rather eat their own shoe than have any form of recycling pr purchasing of skill points.
As for your, "waaa the character I just bought has some skills i dont want".... Well tough s*it, if you cant play the game without having to buy characters, at lease have the sence to buy one with the skills you want.
Oh, and a new post for this? I guess you did as much research into the other posts on the front page of this forum as you did into the character you bought.

Jint, If this is your main, and your first toon, I've been playing Eve before you where even a twinkle in a space tube.
You can remap your attributes now. Isn't that the same thing? When you created your character, there was consequences to the choices you've made. But CCP changed it, because there was a need. Because people realised that having Charisma as your highest attribute was actually bad.
For reposting it? Why do you even reply to the post then? Is it the best you can do with your time? If you don't have something constructive to say, keep it to yourself. And before you make assumptions on Characters and their skill sheets, maybe you should do some research as well. Your finger was just as quick on the Post button as what mine was.
Sometimes when there is a need for something, it can be addressed. But then there is people that just want to be stuck in the past.

You watch too much conspiration movies. I have nothing to do with Jint. If you had read though other skill relocation threads, you must know that majority of players really dont want this. I myself would love to be able to drop skills (no refund) but even this idea is meeted with a large no-no and rage. |

Yes this is my main, and first character.
I don't care if you've been playing for longer than me, it makes no difference to me when you started playing.
Attribute remapping is not the same as skill remapping.
"For reposting it"??? Why shouldn't i reply, this forum is for both people to make suggestions and for CCP and the players to comment on what they think of those ideas. (i suppose you only want people who support your idea to post?)
In my opinion, there is no need for remapping skills in Eve. If a character was given some skills and has made use of those skills then they should keep those skills. There are many many posts giving very good reasons why remapping SPs would be bad for Eve.... too many to respond politely to.

10% is way too little.
You would get my vote at 50% SP loss when recycling. |

I support the general idea of unlearning/recycling skill points, even if it's limited to partially trained skill levels. But I see no reason for arbitrary annual limits or penalties. This would be less of an issue of skill points were generated before being allocated.
No on bonuses from Certificates, they exist only as a guide for training skills. |

you can buy characters with any skill point you want
you can allocate stats to the general parameters you want in order to train faster
a new player can sell plex to get +5 implants to make his training go quicker than another new player who can't
but reallocating skill points causes people to flip out?
i find dis interesting

FFS... does NO ONE use the search function before proposing an idea?

You are submitting an idea to the scrutiny of the greater community here. It's your job to appeal to us, not the other way around. Next time... before you post an "idea"... do some research. sp recycle...dead horse rez'ed again.
Certs are a guideline nothing more. Pick what you want from them, leave the stuff that you don't want or is bad for you alone.. Minny combat certs for example, do not train AB 5. Messes up your burn cycles.
Well that and some certs if taken to completion are already high powered. think falcon's suck as is, imagine a boost from e-war/ecm elite certs. Player who maxed his certs here already has a strong e-war foundation. |

Before you start, I do not currently have an opinion on this idea. I am posting here to inform all of you that you shouldn't judge something by whether or not it has been posted before. That is one of the reasons why some of the good ideas haven't been implemented yet.
And no, I still don't have an opinion. This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine. |
