Hi,
Would a Raven with 75% resistance of EM and Therm against Corpus (Blood NPC's), with a permma running Large Shield Booster II (yep i mannaged to fond out how to permma run a large shiled booster lol), 5x Heavy Shield Maintenance Bot II (provided by my second alt / support ship) be able to tank the stages in a complex?
If anyone could help with this, their thoughts and knowledge please let me no
Thanks!

the answer is maybe..
Depends on the plex ..
But generally you will be looking at a slightly better than t2 fit and something more than simple shield maint drones for anything like a 6/10 or 8/10 plex to be soloable.
The problem will be aggro .. if your support ship gets it .. it's toast. Plexes in 0.0 are gang focused or T2 ship focused .. like a command ship. And god forbid you run into a Neut tower or 2 .. with an active shield tank .. you will be toast.
Oh and if you have a support alt .. technically you aren't running it solo.
But just one person's opinion.

1. I perma run a XL shield booster on my raven and I still wouldn't want to go solo.
2. Put some shield transporters on both ships in case your support gets aggro.
3. Tank your support ship well.
4. You aren't running solo if you have a support ship.

I've run as tank in a 6/10 Sansha in a Munnin (so 93% EM, 87% Therm resists) and it was tough until support knocked out some of the BSs. This was with 5 med armor rep drones and some remote armor repping.

I'd say 50% of deadspace would be doable solo ; 50% would be hard / too hard for a solo raven.
The only way for you to know is to experience the thing and get to know the available plexes. I just finished the whole "Angel Provincial HQ sequence" and it was a real tough one ; the final boss two shooted our logistic whioch was played in dual account. The first stages where impossible to do alone.
Wel, get out there, be ready to lose some BS and you may get lucky :)

ps :don't listen to Eclip. The problem of some rated plexes are sometimes not the tank but the dps needed for a self repairing structure madness. For example angel 8/10 is easy the first 3 stages, final stage chews your bs if alone as there is too much support and you pray for remote to get there soon, final structure sometimes needs 4 5 BS to die ...

Quite simply, no. Your perma-boosting Raven will start out ok and then will be eaten on an escallation.
The problem is that you are targetting Blood Raider sites. These ones regularly spawn neutralising/nossing cruisers and battleships so if you are actively tanking you will get fried unless you have a support/logistics ship feeding you cap. And even then I have regularly run out of juice and had to resort to cap boosters just to run my active armor tank.
If you can not passively tank when required then you will not survive. |

1. I am sure the Raven can not solo with those resists. 2. Neutralizer towers spawn in almost every faction plex, found them in Angel,... as well. 3. Your best bet to solo plexes up to 8/10 are T2 HACs with faction resists and rep/booster. 4. Neut towers happen, make sure you got a decent strategy against those (long range ammo, flying aligned, pulsing repper/booster only until Neut tower dead,...) 5. There is no ship so far (from my findings), which is able to tank whole 8/10 plex's and solokill the boss monster.
Additionally some unknowns spawn lvl 23+ overseers, which require a decent gang to kill: Golem , Raven, Sac, NH, Pilgrim were needed to be able to break the tank of my last encounter (except the Sacrilege all ships were dmg optimized - still was a close call to break tank).
So bottom line: - two dmg-type faction-unknown sites should be tankable by a decent setup - multi dmg-type faction-unknown sites (more than 2 dmg types) are imho only reliably tankable in HACs - you wont be able to kill all boss monsters solo

I did some 0.0 sites in a Raven, and it worked ok. I did however skip one complex which was an escalation and contained a ****load of ships (I scouted in a shuttle) and an angry structure.
But all drone complexes I found was tough but doable.

When i say solo, i meant myself personally and my 2 chars... should have been more precise :P
How about...
2 Abaddons's (very high resitances) remote repping each other and 3x heavy armor bots on each other?
Sound good? not good? what?

Listen to Eclip i've run 8 and 9/10 plexes solo, they are doable, not all of them but some are.

Oh, well, that is a different thing entirely.
Using that setup you can easily manage any drone complex, you can take any DED Blood Raider complex up to 6/10 and can survive the 10/10 although you may not have enough firepower to break the tank on the final battlestation. And you should also be able to take out nearly all the other blood escallation complexes excluding the Blood Raider Temple Complex, the Blood Raider Regional HQ and possibly the fourth stage of the Digital Complex/Pirate's Hideout.
Damn, I know too much about running blood raider complexes. :D |

What do you think of an Abaddon with a gaurdian repping it?
I've heard that its a pretty sweet set-up
Thanks

Almost the optimum, to be honest. Fit the Abbadon with EM and Thermal hardeners and you are laughing. Unless your logistics guy is highly skilled you may end up with cap issues on the Guardian but if you give the Abbadon enough resists you will not have any issues. If you can fly Minmatar, even better, but if not then you're going to do just fine in the abby.
Personally, I find a faction fitted shield tanking Sleipnir can murder these things with a single Guardian feeding it cap and very very occasionally emergency armor. |
