Lord Evangelian Gallente LEAP Corp	Posted - 2008.01.31 22:56:00 - [1] I am very happy at the moment, I am a gallente specced char for PVP. I had very poor cald skills. By this I mean Caldari BS level 3 500k In missle skills and T2 skills for Shield hardeners and boosters up to Large. After the torp nerf I foun dit hard to run missions becuase my Raven would so boat to location and take generally months to complete anything. And with such poor missles skills my cruise missles didint no damage and torps are now to short ranged. So After about 1 month of waiting. I took my hac to my misison runnign hub and tryed a few level 4s....I run misisons now better than with my raven. 2mos I intend to try it with my Astarte... --------------------

The raven has been haled the King of Missions for a long while...but my corpmate ALyx Li has proven this wrong time and time again. He has tried nearly all the Racial BS and out of all of them his Navy Megathron seems to do the job pretty sweetly. --------------------

Like...perhaps always assuming that a Raven is the best mission ship is like thinking within a certain confinement of some kind...perhaps akin to a sealed room or box. But you have found a way to avoid this simple-mindedness, almost as if you have escaped this limitation. But it Domi/Apoc is fun and I will mostly never Skill Caldari(mayby for the Nightmare but this is another story). :D Isthar in Level 4 is fun btw... ---- Nerf Tank - Boost Gank! Had my demios for a while so i know what it can do. that 1 month was exploring other profetions. my afteburner on weith rep and omni tank works quite well i made 30mill so far from runing it since 8, i have stoped now to shower... with a bs every shot will hit you so its about out ranging them and tanking what you can...with a nac you can use 800m/s with ab to your advantage with high res so wjen the do actually hit you, its alot less and can be reped asily... Ok im going to shower now --------------------

The rest of us who don't fly Ravens in Lv4s, doesn't matter what ship, even if its Caldari must stand together to fight the Cult of the Raven. We prove time and again that the Raven is not the only ship for Lv4s. I will say this, the Raven is probly one of the easiest Lv4 mission ships to get into and can fly L4 missions effectively with low effort, and low skills. Also, a faction fitted CNR in the hands of a skilled pilot may be an excellent mission ship. It is still not the only mission ship, however. If you put the same amount of skill and isk into it, there are many other ships that work just as well. I've flown a Megathron and a Navy Megathron for countless missions. It works extremely well, just took a little more skilling to get into and takes slightly more effort on the pilots part. On the topic of ease of use however, I think a Dominix is up there. You dont need that good of skills, nor an expensive fit to make it effective. Again though, takes slightly more effort on the part of the pilot. Finally, that I'd just like to say that it is one of my goals to fly L4 missions in as many ships as I can, just to show you can run them effectively with other fits. Just might take a little longer, a little more creativity in your fits, and/or a little more skilling. I will eventually try a Raven for L4s, of course, just to see what all the fuss is about, but I don't foresee it being my primary mission ship any time soon. I suggest we use this topic to share our none-Raven experiences in flying level 4 missions to spread the word and counter the Raven cultists. :D
