Turrets are to Missiles as Tracking Distruptor's are to ... ??? (smartbombs?)
obviously turrets and missile launchers are apples and oranges but they still get similar damage improvment mods.
Tracking Distruptors are mirrored against Tracking computers and there are no mods that buff missiles range or ability to hit right?
Can you EWar Missiles? they even have FoF =)

Anyway, not everything in Eve has to be modeled to have identical relationships with other modules as their alternatives.

Range is pretty much skill/implant/ship bonus only, however ability to hit(Or rather, actually do damage when you hit) would be Target Painters. (In some applications...)
There's no real way to Ewar FoF missles, other than hoping something else is closer to you when they fire. Otherwise, don't get locked. And move really freaking fast and hope those aren't FoF precision lights.

Drones.
FoF missiles just LOVE wasting themselves on drones. They also refuse to fire past 80km iirc, which is great if you're sniping, not so great if you actually want to tackle the target.

So... tell me again what the tracking comp/tracking enhancer for missiles is? I think it would probably need to affect both explo radius and explo velocity. Of course, they'd also need something to affect missile velocity...
You would be mistaken if you think that tracking computers/enhancers are not damage mods.
