my partner and i are having a baby. hurrah!
we already know it's a little boy. if it was a girl we'd already decided to call it Eve (YA RLY) but that's rather gone out the window now taking with it my dreams of free stuff off CCP. nevermind. i bought him a rather awesome skull and crossbones babygro to make up for it.
Now we need to think up equally awesome names for the little chap. baby name books are all well and good, but there weren't many nice names that were also slightly unusual without being stupid (boys seem to get the short end of the stick with this, there are loads more great girls names). Any suggestions?
also it's probably worth mentioning that we're white & english, so whilst european names are all cool, we're unlikely to call him Zhao Liu. and no, that isn't racist, it's just how it goes.
NOTE: everybody, and i do mean everybody, we've asked so far has suggested their own name. don't do it. [IMAGE REMOVED] |

Depends what the parents names are to be honest, my family has a tradition of Celtic names so it all goes like that.
I would say Nicholas, nice name and you can shorten it to Nick if he doesn't like it a few years down the line.

Well, considering its my co-workers name and we're both British working just outside of London, you may want to rethink that statement.

I'd like to point out to you that it was the name of several english kings, also the name of our patron saint, the namesake of an entire era in history...but after all that I do sorta have to agree it is the sorta name that people give monkeys. ---

After thinking about it, maybe George isn't so hot! Just thought of a George who really puts me off that name.
Steven, Terrance, Harold all can be shortened to less formal names!

terrible resolution, horrible motion blur and is desperate need of AA.
When I saw my kid in the sonogram the first time, it was like a punch to the gut. I knew she was preggers before, but it is something different when you see them for the first time.
Congrats Ry Ry.
And name him Sue.

Congrats mate!
I called my kid Bruno (wifey doesn't like my name ). Not really an American name, but nobody has trouble pronouncing it or spelling it. It is fairly uncommon and best of all, it's easy to write.
My mom is called Eve and one of my sisters is called Eve, nice choice for the girl. |

Evan?
Evan Ry Ry has a nice ring to it.
Always kind of liked Max myself (although if you go with the full Maximillian that could be a bit much).
And no, neither of those are my name although I am gratified to see someone else suggested it.

I got named after my Dads favourite film 'Shane'. Pretty crap film imho but he does shoot up all the baddies at the end in a fairly slick cowboy-esque manner.
Anyway follwoing the same method, and looking at a few current movies you should call your son 'Sweeney Todd', 'Mr Magorium', 'Alvin' or possibly 'Cloverfield'.

Yea, the name Casey is almost as bad as someone named Howard, though Zander is my personal favorite of the ****ty names department, and I actually know someone named that in real life.
