Last night, the Coalition of Deklain joined forces with the RSA an an attempt to back them up. Last night, they took both took heavy losses, 4 BS from one large fleet battle plus a collection of ships around the map here and there. No friendly forces were lost.
Tonight, forces from NORAD/DSIN/RKK/CELEST moved on the forces of RSA again. In response to us moving up, RSA again called in reinforcements from the FE. There proceeded a collection of fights around FADE...
Fight 1 An estimated FE/RSA/C0D force of around 15 ships were camping the lc-307 > C4c gate. Around 30 ships from NORAD/DSIN/CELEST/RKK jumped on top of them. The early battle at close range was brutal, both sides giving it their all. Both sides were losing ships and the numerical advantage of the NORAD/DSIN/CELEST/RKK forces started to pay off. Then FE warped out and warped back in at 60km, moving to a premium range for them. Although they had a numerical disadvantage overall, they had an electronic warfare advantage. Using their highly trained target calling skills, they quickly dispatched the remainder of the NORAD/DSIN/CELEST/RKK forces dampening and jamming ships. The battle had begun to swing largely in favour of the FE. Five jumps out, a back-up fleet of 10 RKK members was on it's way. We got their just in time as the fight looked to be swaying FE's way. With the numerical advantage and electronic warfare advantage back in our favour, we proceeded to force the FE to regroup. We pulled back to the station and counted our losses.
Approx scores from fight 1: NORAD/DSIN/CELEST/RKK forces 5 BS lost
FE/RSA/C0D forces 3 BS lost
Fight 2 Fight 2 was actually a small engagement as we were regrouping. We had heard that FE/RSA/C0D were attacking the station in c4c so we went to defend it. We jumped into the station but the small fleet there pulled back. We engaged 3 BS at the sun, killing them all.
Approx scores from fight 2: NORAD/DSIN/CELEST/RKK forces 0 BS lost
FE/RSA/C0D forces 3 BS lost
Fight 3 After we regrouped again in c4c, we sent scouts in to see what was happening in lc-307. By this point, both sides had lost some pilots due to ship loss, late night logging and things were starting to even up. Our side still had the numerical advantage. Lc-307 was camped out by the remainder of the FE/RSA/C0D fleet. We felt it was suicidal to jump into their fleet a second time but decided to go for it anyway. Upon jumping in, we lost two CELEST BS and the rest of us engaged the forces there. We killed two FE/RSA/C0D BS and the rest pulled out again to regroup.
Approx scores from fight 3: NORAD/DSIN/CELEST/RKK forces 2 BS lost
FE/RSA/C0D forces 2 BS lost
At this point, we held at the gate for a while but then decided to move back down to empire as people were beginning to log. The last I heard FE/RSA/C0D forces had regrouped en masse and recovered their stations in Fade.
A great night of fighting, although pretty even in the end. The fight was initially laggy for Fight 1 for those at the start due to the mass amount of people involved but I personally didn't have any problems at all.
I was impressed by FE's ability to overturn a larger force and start to get on top, and if it wasn't for the fact that a RKK force was manouvering up behind them, it could have turned into a rout like the last battle we fought did.
This is however, the first time we have managed to put together numbers to counter the FE and it is also the first time I have seen the FE move away from a fleet battle. So tonight was a good night for our forces involved regardless of the fact that the scores were even.
Thanks to Blacklight, Toulak, Galavet, Celest (not sure who was leading), Darwin and Mongo Peck.
Was fun guys, look forward to it again.

Edited by: DB Preacher on 28/03/2004 02:08:41 looks like I might have got the scores from the second fight incorrect, any confirmation from either side would be good :)
I know that FE confirmed 3 BS losses, but I couldn't get a confirmation from RSA or C0D on their BS losses.
We confirmed a total of 7 losses from all friendly forces.

I can confirm that xtal and RIot died... and I';m pretty sure that a lot of other FE Bs's died as well in that first fight.
We definitely lost more than 5 BS's.
There were 5 BNC cans floating at one point, at that was near the end of the fight before RKK jumped through.

Edited by: Toulak on 28/03/2004 02:18:21 Add another [F-E] loss from earlier in the day.
Stardog - Scorpion.
Got a lil too*****y, warping in and out of the station in c4c and was hunted down and promptly ganked.
As to the battles, wicked fights, the first battle was great, apart from the lag, although with the mixed forces we had put together, and not everyone ganged in the chaos (We had around 60 people) we had some friendly fire issues
And mad props to the no smacktalk.

I was only counting BS kills. I think there were some cruiser/frigate kills on either side as well.
I had a confirmed 7 BS kills from our side and 3 BS from FE, I reckoned between 5-8 BS from c0d/RSA

Edited by: Blacklight on 28/03/2004 02:30:47 Was an excellent afternoon/evening of fighting. Congrats to all who took part on both sides & the lack of smack in local was great.
I can confirm BNC/HMMI lost 3 BS in the fighting, including all 3 engagements and probably 3-4 cruisers/frigs (who really stood no chance given the size and ferocity of the fleet engagements). The only enemy kills I can confirm 100% were the 2 CoD BS our patrol nailed in K4YZ-Y as I personally saw them go down and saw their pods.
The location of the first fight was actually in L-C307 at the O1Y-ED gate. We'd had a comic moment just prior to the battle where our forces had jumped into O1Y-ED to engage FE the very second they jumped into L-C307 (not sure if this was deliberate or coincidental, if deliberate it was a great move to join forces with the RSA guys, if it was coincidence then it provided some entertainment!).
A very objective battle report by DB, I'd personally have ladled on the melodrama a little bit more especially for the first fight which was just an enormous display of fireworks and ordanance!
Anyway, it was all top fun and hopefully everyone really enjoyed it. Big respect to the commanders on our side and all the troops who took part.

Yeah, that's a fair point, I could only give my view of things and since I was in the backup force, I missed the first half of fight, and had to rely on other guys in the fight's comments.
Anyone wishes to write a bit of a longer post on the first fight, go for it...
Would especially like to hear from the enemies point of view as the fights can look different depending on your side

I can confirm the "system swap" was planned by Darwin and "luckly" it went to plan ...
I spent 50% of the battle "jammed" (thanks DBP) and the other lagged to death trying to use a second account to bring up "much needed" ammo ...
Great hard battle, little smack and respect to all.

Shame about the lag, I can honestly say I had none at all but I had guys on TS saying stuff like "target so-and-so" and I was like "erm dude they warped out 30 seconds ago", so I guess there was plenty lag.
Damn good fights though and the lack of smack talk made it for me today, was actually a real pleasure from start to finish.
Looking forward to the next one ;)

Wow, 79 ships in local, the sky a nightmare of missles and tachyons going every direction.
So many names on the scanner, my wife had to locate the called targets.
Great time. I think the main battle lasted at least 45 minutes, with skirmishes breaking out at planets occupied by pilots recharging shields.
I need to upload the screen caps. --------------

I was one of the BB doing the EW thing. It was a very nice fight but the lag was horrid. At one moment everything froze for me and the next thing i was in my pod.
Lost a BB and got away
And yes at the first battle it was 75 local with only around 20 FE/RSA/C0D

yes great fight,great night:)
The lag was horrific in first part , i had a slideshow.
It was like activating a module and seeing it work in 3-5 seconds.
Got away with around 14 % armour at one point
Was also funny to meet pilots recharging at moons , sometimes form enemie side.
