Yeah, the lag was making things a little dicey for those of us unfortunate enough to be in cruisers - other than the obvious problem large volumes of missiles pose! Still a fun evening, and the lack of smack was a credit to both sides.
I for one appreciated the recent changes to rookie ships warp distances on the way home... ______

i lost a griffin after irritating mongo peck too much with some cruise... mental note, griffins are *not* fast enough to escape missiles :<
an excellent and fun fight though, with respect shown on all sides :)
i have 3gb of uncompressed fraps footage to look through, unfortunately most of it was running at 1-2fps, but you can expect a video soon from our resident film guru :)

That was absolutely the best time I have had.
I eventually had to warp-off once someone obviously called me as a target.. and this is what I'm impressed with:
I recharged my shields and cap for a couple of mins and then went back to battle. As soon as I got back and the lag caught-up, I had 4-5 enemies locking me again.. got off a few shots, and had to warp-out again..
I then warped back in from a different angle and range.. and there I was getting locked-up AGAIN, almost immediately after returning.
Now whoever it was on the enemy side that was coordinating the targeting of warp-ins, I'd have to say that it was excellent work.
I eventually ended with about 20% armor left, after that 1st battle was over. Sadly, I had to log and do some RL stuff so I missed the 2nd battle. :(
I can't wait to fight again.

This was Evil Annie 1st major fleet battle (Hey I even appear in the video!) . Lag was pretty bad, especialy when joining back the battle Up to now i've been in a few skirmish with 10-20 ship on each side but yesterday was just insane. Torpedoes and cruise everywhere.
Kudo's on a good fight while not on your turf!

Edited by: SweatySack on 28/03/2004 21:21:11 I have a very big problem with whoever calls targets on the DSIN/RKK/BNC side. Im always the first person to get shot at. Soon as everyone jumped in my screen lit up like a damn christmas tree. Lag was so bad I warped before I even got shot...the only thing that warped was my frozen corpse. That ever happen to anyone. O well congrats to everyone on an awsome battle. Too bad I only saw 35sec of it . You guys finally got my scorp "the Pe-is Wrinkle". Its been with me from the start of this war. Only have 3 more scorps and a tempest too kill before im outa ships . Long live "The Mighty Tampon"

Like everyone has said before, was an awsome fight, and it wasnt just some battleship slug fest, we had guys in frigates, guys who's first experiance in PvP even came up for the fight. hehe the BNC mining director was even there. Must say it was great fun had by all, and im very suprised i even made it out alive (19.5% structure left) in my carcel. I counted 79 in local at one point, Blacklight said he saw closer to 90 something but reguardless it was a huge and fun fight.

Cos like me you fly a scorp, we're always first targets, i couldnt do much due to menu lag then when i tryed to warp away i couldnt due to menu lag, finally got my ship to warp after 40 seconds of trying but was too late

Yeah me too. When the other sides reinforcements showed up, I was getting lotsa love (I guess Scorps are popular). My auto target filled up with ships shooting at me before I could even find the called target on the scanner.
Thank God the lag wasn't too bad or I wouldn't have made it out.

Quote: Last night, the Coalition of Deklain joined forces with the RSA an an attempt to back them up. Last night, they took both took heavy losses, 4 BS from one large fleet battle plus a collection of ships around the map here and there. No friendly forces were lost.
Tonight, forces from NORAD/DSIN/RKK/CELEST moved on the forces of RSA again. In response to us moving up, RSA again called in reinforcements from the FE. There proceeded a collection of fights around FADE...
Fight 1 An estimated FE/RSA/C0D force of around 15 ships were camping the lc-307 > C4c gate. Around 30 ships from NORAD/DSIN/CELEST/RKK jumped on top of them. The early battle at close range was brutal, both sides giving it their all. Both sides were losing ships and the numerical advantage of the NORAD/DSIN/CELEST/RKK forces started to pay off. Then FE warped out and warped back in at 60km, moving to a premium range for them. Although they had a numerical disadvantage overall, they had an electronic warfare advantage. Using their highly trained target calling skills, they quickly dispatched the remainder of the NORAD/DSIN/CELEST/RKK forces dampening and jamming ships. The battle had begun to swing largely in favour of the FE. Five jumps out, a back-up fleet of 10 RKK members was on it's way. We got their just in time as the fight looked to be swaying FE's way. With the numerical advantage and electronic warfare advantage back in our favour, we proceeded to force the FE to regroup. We pulled back to the station and counted our losses.
Approx scores from fight 1: NORAD/DSIN/CELEST/RKK forces 5 BS lost
FE/RSA/C0D forces 3 BS lost
Fight 2 Fight 2 was actually a small engagement as we were regrouping. We had heard that FE/RSA/C0D were attacking the station in c4c so we went to defend it. We jumped into the station but the small fleet there pulled back. We engaged 3 BS at the sun, killing them all.
Approx scores from fight 2: NORAD/DSIN/CELEST/RKK forces 0 BS lost
FE/RSA/C0D forces 3 BS lost
Fight 3 After we regrouped again in c4c, we sent scouts in to see what was happening in lc-307. By this point, both sides had lost some pilots due to ship loss, late night logging and things were starting to even up. Our side still had the numerical advantage. Lc-307 was camped out by the remainder of the FE/RSA/C0D fleet. We felt it was suicidal to jump into their fleet a second time but decided to go for it anyway. Upon jumping in, we lost two CELEST BS and the rest of us engaged the forces there. We killed two FE/RSA/C0D BS and the rest pulled out again to regroup.
Approx scores from fight 3: NORAD/DSIN/CELEST/RKK forces 2 BS lost
FE/RSA/C0D forces 2 BS lost
At this point, we held at the gate for a while but then decided to move back down to empire as people were beginning to log. The last I heard FE/RSA/C0D forces had regrouped en masse and recovered their stations in Fade.
A great night of fighting, although pretty even in the end. The fight was initially laggy for Fight 1 for those at the start due to the mass amount of people involved but I personally didn't have any problems at all.
I was impressed by FE's ability to overturn a larger force and start to get on top, and if it wasn't for the fact that a RKK force was manouvering up behind them, it could have turned into a rout like the last battle we fought did.
This is however, the first time we have managed to put together numbers to counter the FE and it is also the first time I have seen the FE move away from a fleet battle. So tonight was a good night for our forces involved regardless of the fact that the scores were even.
Thanks to Blacklight, Toulak, Galavet, Celest (not sure who was leading), Darwin and Mongo Peck.
Was fun guys, look forward to it again.

DP nice little brief on what took place.
Nice. Who is Fade? Why are people fighting for Fade? Why is FE protecting Fade? "Sick animals die eventually" why prolong the life of an alliance that cannot protect itself? Just my opinion. No offenese to the self proclaimed alliances up there.

I must 'congratulate' both sides on the lack of smack in local - Thats very good to hear.
Whats even better is that there is none in this thread either Rare indeed. For that, both sides deserve respect! BIG Lottery

usually its just who we feel isnt tanked, who is closest to our fleet or whom pee'd us off on the forums .
wasnt at the fight, but looked pretty, congrats on being civil, it makes the game so much more fun doesnt it.

The RSA know why NORAD/RKK/DSIN/CELEST forces are attacking them.
The FE know why they are defending them.
The C0D know why they are assisting RSA.
This thread was a brief of the battle for those interested in hearing how a 80 ship battle feels like from both sides.
Crice (or anyone else for that matter), if you are truly interested in finding out anything about this then contact one of those people I gave kudos to in the initial brief.
Otherwise, leave the thread for those who were fighting.
