I experience for quite a while now constantly disconnects from Eve (for several months now, getting worse recently). This is getting annoying.
It doesn't matter what I am doing: mission running, flying on autopilot, sitting in a station, watching markets or whatever. It doesn't matter at which time I am playing Eve, I am getting disconnects all over the day.
My other internet connections aren't affected, I can continue to browse the web, listening web-radio, chatting around and so on - so it is NOT my computer or internet connection here.
The most interesting thing is that I know at least one more person who disconnects always at the same time as I do and he lives in a different town quite away.
Please, voice yourself if you have similar experiences! Maybe we can find where the problem is and if CCP can do something against this.

Visit the Known issues and Workarounds section. There is a sticky on there offering advice. The most important probably being that you run a traceroute program. -- (Battle hardened industrialist)

i got the same problem too, and a lot more from my corp, we disconnect all at the same second several times a day
every other programm, TS, ICQ and stuff stays online
after several petitions about that issue, CCP told me the problem is a t-online router in Frankfurt (germany)that got massive packet loss
log from trace programm proves this also...
CCP told me they will contact t-online and try to solve that problem
guess we can only wait now

Your best bet would be running pinplotter for a good while and see where the **** is happening;
http://www.pingplotter.com/
At least then you will be able to point and shout.

the problem exists several month now and its not about our client or any hardware issues at home
the problem is the way the traffic gets routet to ccp

Then run a pinplotter and see where the traffic hits a brick wall, point and shout.

i wrote that the tracer programm (pingplotter^^) says the "brick wall" is at a t-online (ISP)router in Frankfurt (german city)
ccp says this also

I've done a traceroute and I can confirm this.
BTW: Sometimes the disconnects are too short to run a traceroute or pingplot and get a result. A simple test to find out if it's a problem with your own internet connection or not is this:
1. Open two shells 2. In one shell, run "ping /t www.eve-online.com" 3. In the other shell, run "ping /t www.google.com"
If on a disconnect, only the ping to the EVE website displays error messages, then blame your ISP or CCP. Otherwise blame your ISP or yourself (maybe your router is fubar or something, or it's the port 26000 ****up). In any case, blame your ISP. They are a bunch of criminals anyway and always deserve to suffer.

I live in germany, southern bavaria. I traced my route constantly to TQ. I have nearly 50% packet loss in Frankfurt. Thats not funny. My ISP is 1und1.
Here is my trace.

Edited by: Dreamy on 11/02/2008 23:00:46 I've the same problems ... germany, NRW... disconnects every 5-20 minutes since 1-2 Weeks. but one thing seems to be for all the same... the Server "f-ea5.F.DE.net.DTAG.DE" ... all ppl who get routed over this one seems to have that problem. Strange is, that other games or applications / downloads don't have any problems...
Hope its possible to fix that soon
