Input for ferrofluid = Dysprosium 47k and hafinum 1.1k So total cost input = 48.1k
Out put 2* ferrofluid 23.8k So total output 47.6k
So loss per hour is -.5k
EDIT atm im just storing the ferrofluid but if things dont change soon my pos will have no fuel because i cant buy any cos ill have no money
So including fuel costs this works out as a 60-70 mill LOSS per week
(fuel cost are for a large POS but it will be a loss for any size pos atm)
SORT IT OUT RASIE FERROFLUID PRICES ASAP Dysporsite selling for 39k a pice so is making a huge profit atm
They need basicallly the same mats so why is ferrofluid so low!!!!!!

Dear panicky player,
This sort of thing happens on a regular (and cyclical) basis. The reason is that people running reactions usually take into account price they bought materials for at the time they bought them, or simply don't bother changing prices. If you want to "correct" the situation, feel free to buy out all "underpriced" stocks and re-list them at a higher price.
That is all.

Well i know prices fluxtuate but tbh i have noticed this getting too low I agree you dont need to start panicinh just store it for the time being and wait for the prices to rise
But i do understand your view these prices should never get so low

Basically offline your stuff and throw it on better moon.
And also, buy up all of the stuff that other people are putting out at a loss and sit on it.
Anything is possible...

so that reaction makes a loss? it seems you buy the minerals to make the reaction anyway so just change to a more profitable one!

Well this is a major problem but ferrofluid seller seem to be f***ing stupid for some reason certain sellers will under cut by 2-3k at a time thats like selling trit at 1isk when it sells for 3isk

As an industrialist with a reasonably active T2 production line I can explain to you why ferrofluid prices are dropping.
Why prices rose 1. New manufacturing calculations meant that now you had 10% waste on unresearched blueprints for t2 components. Thus 10% more materials were being bought. (more demand)
2. New ships came out, requesting large number of t2 components. Heck at one point there were only 10k of plasma thruster in all of eve... thats how far people's stocks dipped (more demand)
3. Several dyspro / ferrogel reaction moons went out of business due to wars / logistic problems, Xmas, etc (less supply)
4. General excitement over new ships + people hoarding "rare" materials for resale (more demand)
What has changed (i.e. why prices dropped) 1. It takes about a week to research a BPO to where you get less than 1% waste. Less waste, less materials needed to produce the same amount of t2 components (less demand)
2. People realized how lucrative t2 component market has become and jumped on the band wagon. While the prices are still much higher than they were pre-trinity, the profit margin is rapidly shrinking and the market is again getting a healthy dose of t2 component stock (less demand for advanced materials)
3. Moons are slowly coming online, Xmas season is over, people are back from their relatives' houses and back to playing eve. Logistics are improved, etc (more supply)
4. The initial excitement is dying down. People are jumping off the "new shiny ships" band wagon onto different things. Less ships being made, less demand for t2 components, less demand for adv materials (less demand).
P.S. No one will raise prices for you, just because you are not making money. If you insist on reacting the single reaction, its your fault that you are outcompeted. I had to change my production lines to completely different modules/ships 2-3 times in the last 4 months. Adapt... or go broke.
P.P.S. My personal advice , never go for the most obvious way of making money. Too much competition in it. Go for the second best, and quetly chuckle as the people trying to "strike it rich" go out of business.
P.P.P.S. I doubt that rational explanations will help though, as people seem to bring this up every 2-3 weeks

So buy it all and sell higher.

This happens at least twice a week. It has to do with peak player counts on sunday and silo sizes.

I've got a couple of the reaction blueprints with 10% wastage; am I misunderstanding that ME research does nothing since there isn't any base materials like trit/zyd etc to work on and that's all ME research affects?

Edited by: Hohne on 08/02/2008 14:15:35 Edited by: Hohne on 08/02/2008 14:15:22 Reactions are not blueprints, so to speak. They have no waste, unless you are talking about drug reactions, in which case they are BPCs, BPCs can't be researched.
Also many BPs have items that are not affected by wastage. (R.A.Ms on T2 BPs and the like)
