Gee, could it be by buying simple reactions when appropriate according to build cost on the market?
Allow me to rephrase that, "there are ways to consistently make at least 30% a month off of those rather skimpy looking numbers."
Just for emphasis, buying the intermediate products may occasionally supplement my profits but it is not a consistent means of turning a good profit and I wouldn't have made that statement if I couldn't sustain those profits.

Agreed, buying intermediate products only works occasinally. But heck if I can figure out how you can sustain 30% profits. Moon mining isn't that complex and the only 'other' thing you can do is putup a POS and mine some of the more abundant raw materials yourself. I know you aren't going to tell us how you do it so i'll stop here.

Meh, he's obviously being coy about the fuel bonus from sov+faction towers, which is ******** since it just lowers your ROI (faction towers are 10 months for their fuel bonus to pay off relative to their increase cost vs normal towers) and increases your risk and logistics (from being in sov-0.0 rather than lowsec or npc 0.0)
Please post constructively. ~Saint |

Edited by: Malcolm Lester on 09/02/2008 22:58:18 It seems that the Ferrogel price is slowly being pushed further down under the massive sell pressure. It was around 24.5k buy / 25.5 sell a few days back, now it's at 22.5k buy / 23.7k sell, despite prom/dysp prices staying in the 50k area. I'm thinking that manipulating it further down would help clear out these enormous sell orders faster and allow the price to adjust to the new prom/dysp prices, and move to around 30k or so. On the other hand, demand for Ferrogel is less dependant on price than I anticipated (I believe that's called inelastic, right?), so it could take a while regardless. And that's assuming that prom/dysp prices won't crash in the mean time of course.
It's pretty interesting to observe this market behavior.

The *gross* price of ferrogel can push people out of the market, but the *actual* price of ferrogel doesn't do much to sway demand. As a T2 Component Producer, all the price does is pinch the gross quantity I can produce in a given week (fighting a, so far winning, war with this atm).
The biggest issue at play imo is that T2 components can be refined back into their components. advanced/Complex/raw materials can't. This results in a situation where T2 component prices are almost self-regulating (however, I wish sometimes I had the standings/skills for perfect refining, observing the prices at times), but the reactions aren't. But if you also control an entire reaction chain, the only cost is your running of the POS.
Eh, what I'm trying to say is, cost of Ferrogel is kindof irrelevant, as the profits to be (potentially) made are always much the same. With reactions it's a very different story, and that's when prices DO become quite elastic.
