he means the measurement not country. furthermore, do you realize our moon is slipping away from our orbit a few cm every day, one day it will break earths hold and fly away into space and we shall have a moonless night sky.

By the time that happens I'm sure we'll all be dead by humanity's own actions anyway.

Not quite, its orbital velocity is insufficient for escape. It will reach a maximum point, then slowly begin falling back. Solar radiation is slowing it in orbit, so it will eventually come back to close enough to Earth to shatter at the Roche limit. This event, however, will not occur until the Sun is almost at the white dwarf stage of its life.

The same people who studied this also pointed out that the sun will burn out before the moon leaves earth's orbit, I too have the discovery channel.

The distance may change but 1AU will always be the distance between the Earth and the Sun so technically the unit will exist until the end of the Earth. It just won't be the same as it was at the start -------------------------------------------

Not exactly. The impact of normal solar radiation on a planetary body (as far as orbits are concerned) is fairly insignificant. What is happening is that the moon will eventually tidal lock the Earth's rotation. This means that the same point on the Earth's surface will always be facing the moon. Net result: Earth's rotation slows down (day gets longer), moon's orbit speeds up (it will go through all phases in one 'new day'), moon swings to a higher orbit.

surf is caused by the wind blowing along the surface of the ocean
and "tidal waves" arent caused by the tides either ------------------------ Infrared = heat = thermal Infrared crystals = less therm more EM I FEEL LIKE I'M TAKING CRAZY PILLS! Reach in front of a 10watt CO2 laser some time you'll get it... |

True, until it becomes tidally locked with the Earth, if I remember my orbital mechanics right .
