Just something I heard through the grapevine. Forsaken Empire are apparently either taking a break from EVE for a few weeks / months and coming back with Shiva or leaving EVE permanently - - - for Lineage 2.
The reason I heard was that EVE was catering too much to the carebears, and L2 is a hardcore PvP game.
These are only rumors though . . .

L2 is not a hardcore pvp game. It imposes stiff penalties that you must be very careful about when pvp'ing.

atm Linage2 pvp is crap...
if you log out you vanish, even if being attacked or attacking another...
If you are the aggressor the other does not have to fight back, he can just run away or log off and you get penelized for it...
Kinda like being a pirate in 0.4 space without a webber and a warp jammer.

Lineage 2 is very lame actually. Besides the conqerable castles there is nothing new offered. It reminds me mostly of Ragnarok, just with an Ashron's Call landscape. The character design is nice, but once you get your character built up and all lordly there really isn't anything in the game to call your own accept for the pack of items you carry around with you. The game lacks a ton of stuff, and seems to skimp out on things like weather patterns, and other things Morrowind would be famous for. Nice try, but it's just another log in the fire as far as I'm concerned :)

To clear this up:
Eve-online = BORING atm
Lineage2 looks fun and many of us are playing at atm (75% of corp) and its proving to be much more fun than EVE has been for weeks.
We are not leaving Eve at all, nor are we taking any big break, i for one will start logging into eve other than to check skills once they make pvp harder to avoid.
btw try lineage2 open beta, its pretty cool =)

even if it was great, i doubt i would play it, its full of freaks, all i kept getting when i tried the beta was "a/s/l"

 jeah i play lineage 2 beta.. but i hate hack and slash :/ and to lvl op all the time

Everyone seems to be playing L2 at the moment but I can garuntee you most will quit when they realize 95% of the game is killing NPCs endlessly. The XP treadmill in L2 is worse than any other MMORPG I've ever played. Not my kind of game. =/

EXACTLY! I mean, sure try the beta out, you will like it for the first 2 days promise. After that you will realize that this is all your going to be doing for the rest of your life if you actually decide to join the game. The open beta still has 4 weeks left before it closes down and gets ready for launch. One thing I do suggest is copying all of the music out of the music folder before you delete the game. The game might be lame but the music is extremely good.

It is fun atm, but the game is definitely barren of content just like Eve was when it launched. MMOs take time to develop  . Anyway I am enjoying it, I've always liked H&S style.
But as Havocide said, I am definitely not leaving Eve. Eve is the best game I've ever played, and it is so easy to keep the skill training (and monthly payments up) even if you aren't spending that much time in-game. That IS the beauty of Eve; it is casual-gamer friendly. Lineage, along with every other treadmill type game, is not. BUT it is fun for now  .

EVE has a big lack of action elements. Mostly it needs hours to get a good fight, even if a player runs amok and attacks everything. Since FE are mostly ex-pirate-players i think they might be bored of the game. All games of the world have an important element: winner and loser. If you want to beat a player, a corp or an alliance in this game you will find out that it¦s simply impossible. Nobody can be stopped in the game. This game has no winners and no losers - only $$$-paying gamers with a dream that CCP can¦t make true.

We would rather see you down in Catch or Esoteria if its so boring up there.

About Lineage:
Lineage is all about PVE, i had a level 49 knight there a level 53 one and i had a level level 48 mage.
This was my day when playing Lineage 1 in my holidays:
Wake up at 7 am, start up the computer make some breakfast and hit the shower.
8 am: Login, buy 150 red potions, buy brave, buy sosc, buy haste.
8.10am use teleportscrol to my bookmark in firevaley, sosc into DK, relog, start heading up the mountain.
9 am, reached the top of the mountain slashed for till reds run out, use teleport home scroll
9.20 restocked and ready to head back to my bookmark in firevalley.
10 am, hit FV, slash npc's till 150 reds run out, resosc, repeat.
repeat.
repeat.
repeat.
14 am gained 2% till level 53.
repeat
repeat
repeat
repeat
20 am gained another 2%
repeat etc.
end of the night:
Gained 7%, logged off
Next day, repeat, repeat, repeat
Next day, Siege.
Siege = taking castles by hitting down a tower.
Run around, try kill some people who always press escape scroll unless you have a mage paralyze them and still it takes longer to kill them than paralyze lasts.
After 30 minutes get castle controll, all enemies are warped out. They siege castle now, get paralyzed by a mage, have a fleet of 20 elves shoot at you because your DK and dangerous... Die, lose 7%, lost 1 day leveling. Buy back exp for 4%, cost you 400-500k = 2 days making money.
Go back, get killed again.. lost money... lost exp for a day.
End of siege, get back a castle and get taxed 2mil split by 40-60 defenders. reds cost more than gain.
7 days later leveling = siege and repeat.
Lineage 1 had loads of bugs and loads of customers who didnt got any support. CTD and crash due to game bugs = NO reimbursement whatsoever. There were ctd tiles in firevalley that took about 6 months to get fixed and from what i heard its still not fixed.
