For those who are using the EVE Playlist Generator or the manual way of just dropping the mp3 into the res/sound/music directory, you'll have noticed that your mp3, while properly playing in eve - wasn't showing the entire name of the mp3 song name. I'm not sure about some of you, but for me, this was a little bit... annoying. Anyway, after playing around with the mp3 files, I found a solution to this (until it gets patched and fixed hopefully...). Now, I haven't tested anything with the EVE Playlist Gen from eve-i.com, but instead did everything the manual way (which isn't hard to do at all).
After making your res/sound/music folders, and dropping all the wanted mp3 in the music directory, open winamp 5 and press the open file button. From this browser window, select ALL of the music in the music folder (click the first file, hold shift, and click the last file). Then press open. Now, if you are using the default skin of winamp 5, there should be a PL button next to the open button. Click it, and the playlist will open. If you did it correctly, all of the music in your res/sound/music folder will be listed. Now... this part is where we're going to fix the problem with the song name not being fully listed in the eve jukebox:
It seems that for some odd reason, the first 17 characters of the id3 tag of the mp3 are being erased (actually I think its just the "Track #" part of the eve jukebox thats just overlapping it). But anyway, what you have to do to fix this is... yes, you guessed it, make 17 spaces in the id3 tag. Using winamp 5, select one song at a time in the winamp playlist. Right click the song, and press "view file info". You should now see a window pop up. There are two sides, on the left is the id3v1 info forms, and on the right is the id3v2 forms. Check OFF the id3v2 checkbox on the right side - if its already off, then leave it. Now make sure the id3v1 checkbox on the right is on. You only need to fill the "title" and "artist" forms. The way this is displayed after you do it, is "Artist" - "Title". Winamp automatically puts in the space, the dash (-), and another space between the artist and title, so don't worry about putting the dash in. Since "Artist" is displayed first, thats where you have to put the 17 spaces. Don't worry about having to press the spacebar 17 times for every song - you can just use copy/paste - just do the 17 spaces for the first song on the playlist, use your mouse and drag over the 17 spaces, and press ctrl-c to copy, ctrl-v to paste. It shouldn't take too long with that.
Note that most mp3's already have the title and artist listed in their id3 tags, so you probably wont even ahve to type out the artist and title, just put the 17 spaces before the title, as in: Formbox: [artist name]
And DO NOT FORGET THAT YOU MUST DISABLE THE ID3v2 CHECKBOX - ONLY FILL IN THE FORMS IN THE ID3v1 SECTION AND MAKE SURE THAT CHECKBOX IS ENABLED.
Anyway... hope this works for all of you. If you're having problems... then ask. ___________________________________
