We had a few non-important kills, then a PURE fleet decided to engage us. The fight went extremely well for us, but props to them for bringing it. Battle Summary. Now during the course of this engagement, we noticed a bunch of Foundation (FDN) pilots massing in and around Skarkon, the lowsec on the other side of our little camp. Now for those of you unfamiliar with foundation, they are a pretty pvp-weak alliance that tends to blob with both conventional and capitals. We've had them drop 3-4 carriers on a single battleship camping a lowsec gate before. By the time they assembled, they had over 40 pilots in mostly BS to attack the 12 of us. However, since it took them 20 minutes to move onto our gate, we had more than enough time to plan and make our exit. Now, in the course of moving out, we obviously had to move slowly to not outpace our slower ships. While running, we ended up warping into a large stationary bubble anchored in an empty system. OH NOZ right? As we're slowboating towards the gate, our good friend Duck D0gers (yeah that's a 0 in his name) arrives in local, he flies a rapier named Duck D0ger's Rapier, so he's usually pretty easy to spot! Anyway, he lands in that darn bubble and true to form, immediately fires a cyno. He tackles and webs down one of our poor Abaddons, and we think hes rightly dead so we decide to blow up the cyno-rapier. Lo and behold, no cap ships arrive. We were elated as the rapier blew up, and all our pilots left safely. Confused, we pulled up the handy dandy f10 map and realized that we were NOT in jump range for capitals based out of their home system. Wow. So kids, the morale of the story is this: try to pay attention to where you are before you decide to drop 12 capital ships on a 12 man gang. Nice try foundation, maybe next time you get 40 pilots together you'll get a kill. See you guys soon!
