You failed to note the most important part of the other auction, and I quote:

If you are going to be a critic, at least be fair about it. Bidding roughly half of the starting bid rarely results in a sale, and expectations to the contrary are unrealistic. The rejection of the woefully short 6.6b bid was within the boundaries of honesty and fair dealing.
This auction has no such starting bid and different rules will therefore apply. It's as simple as that. Bid if you want to. Otherwise, the game's best mod will land in someone else's hands at a bargain price.
