Your overview is the main thing though- watch for players. >Use close-range weapons, orbit close to the rats, afterburners are you friend. Once you can fit a webifier, do so- it helps a lot. >Gallente frigates can hold a single drone- USE IT. The drone adds almost as much dps as 2 of your turrets, and can start doing that damage from a longer range before you get close. >Some rats use warp scramblers or webifiers... it's best to take these ones out first. If you need to leave the belt in a hurry and a rat has you scrammed- just get some range on it or keep trying to enter warp... I've notice that they don't have the scrambler active at all times and it has a short range on frigate rats (cruiser rats are out to about 10km on their scrambler). >Keep a large supply of ammo in station, but only carry around enough to last you about 20-30mins or so. You'll usually fill your cargo by the time you run out, you're using less space for ammo, and if you die you only lose a small amount. I run with 1000 rounds in my hold for my Incursus' 3 blasters. It lasts me about 30mins unless I run into battlecruiser rats*. >Battlecruiser rats will wreck you. But if you get into 1km and keep moving fast, (orbiting at 1km @500m/2 ends up being about 1800... that's perfect for most short range guns) you'll eventually wear them down. Prepare for a long fight, and as before- if someone warps in, GTFO.
so very very true- i would like to add to this,
learn to use the scanner, a simple scan in a safe spot will tell you whats undocked in the system. warp to 100km first, get a feel for whats there, then warp to a safe spot and warp back in. watch local, any new faces, do a quick scan, if its a combat ship, keep aligned to your safe spot or a station. NEVER EVER warp to a moon. frigs can be replaced, easier if you insure it. bigger is not better consider eve with levels at 5 mil sp your level 1, that means frigs at 10mil sp your level 2, that means cruisers/afs at 15mil sp your level 3, that means bcs/hacs at 20mil sp your at level 4, that means bs/commands at 25mil sp your at level 5, that means you start training for capitals at 30mil sp your at level 6, that means your close to capitals at 35mil sp your at level 7, you can set in a capital, and pew pew in it, but not quite great at 40mil sp your at level 8, you can pew pew in a capital with the best of em... (THIS IS AN EXAMPLE, AND DOES NOT REPRESENT ANY HARD INFO, ITS A EXAMPLE OF SP+SKILLS=SHIP THAT I USE)
your lvl stuff is off by a mile dude... according to you..I'm lvl 2...lol I fly command hacs...bcs ceptors EW frigs...freighters.....I have all my fitting skills at lvl 4 or up....crazy armor tank skills...and my gun skills are near perfect (lvl 4 and up for repectect T2 guns class)
