Try not to over-detail the ships.
Artemis is at the perfect detail level, but Aegis is a bit too much.
The same goes for the Deliverence, at the size of the punisher theres way too much going on structurally.

Yeah Im having a hard time finding the right balance between to much and not enough details, once thing i noticed with not enough details is how minmatar and caldar look exaclty the same and it starts to lose some conveyence with it, and i understand to much detail drowns the idea. I wished i went to an art school instead of being self taught.

Anyways work has been a real drag, still redefining the kite and getting the aegis (fixing the center foward section that is too much amarr to it) and artimis (fixing the wing pods) thier own sheets. The minmatar will hopefully look better with their own sheets so that i can add in the scrapmetal junk in a more defined way.
Aside from this I do have several more designs including all 4 landers, 3 teir 2 dreadnaughts (sorry the caldari design one eludes me still) and few other ships, will show them if requested.

Very nice. However. The newer Minny ships are showing cleaner designs than the early ship chasis' out there. I think your Squall kind of take it a step back. I very much like the whirlwind (being bias because i'm in love with Hurricane.)

is it me or oes the tyto look like a probe? anyway nice design but as someone else said before seems a lot going on structurally for such small ships.

Belive it or not that was the look I was going for with the tyto (unless your talking about the ship itself then I got a problem :( ). Its the caldari multirole destroyer unlike the kite which is the tank variant. The only frigate sized ewar frigate there is the the heron or the griffen both of which feature a vertical build. So to play along with the destroyers multipropused life the electronic warfare aspect was tossed in.
Eve classic has many frigates being quite simple, upgrading to preminium tells another tale however with complexities that would make me confused as well as these ships are being my studies for the designs since they seem to be retroing the models back to classic not the other way around (maybe I should post the existing eve ships I've drawn out)
But most my designs for these ships are built off two 'keels', the cross shape, the centerline shape with some having secondary centerlines (making an M or trident shape) these keels determine the flow of hull placment thus most of these ships should still have a good flow as long as i dont stray far from their general foundations
ships like the burst have up to three different directional flows which well disrupts the deseign a bit which makes it look every overly complex jsut for a newbie frigate. The most flow directions my ships have are 3 and they all go in the same direction as the center most one, the artemis, deliverence, and few others are the ones with 3 flow lines, bleh some one who went to art school can tell you better what im talking about 'flow' which is mainly used in people poses (people can have up to 6 max and anyone with that many flow lines is usually mutilated to death or look like the broke several bones too many) but it has its uses in ship design as well, a ship with 1 or 2 flow lines is more pleasing than a ship with 10 ununiformed flows, I only had a 5 minute lession from a professional on this.
I find it strange more people like the first tyto? oh well ill sharpen that up when i have the chance so it can be better appreciated, mabey change some decoration and define a few parts on it.
Currently working on the new kite and its looks heavy (since its the caldari tank-type destroyer) the look im going for similar to what the deliverence went though. Taken a few design ques from homeworld for it thoguh :)

Still inking the new deliverence but Im sorta ****ed at the salvation because the new deliverence 'stole' everything the salvation was supposed to be too.
Other than that im redownloading eve after two incidents with my laptop left it smoke checking its power brick, so if you want to leave me a message drop it here, or elsewhere.

Another bump and reason for some delays.
Somone said i should try to design terran (earth human) ships...

No seriously I do because now I got the following,
1 rookie
1 shuttle
6 frigates
1 destroyer
4 cruisers
2 battlecruisers
3 battleships
2 carriers
1 dreadnaught
1 titan
and 3 styled set decoration themes to apply for tech 2 modifications

You're responsible for my lack of attention to my eve destroyers lately and Ill have to put an end to this one way or another.
Other than that they are nice looking ships I might use them for myself.
but thier posting demands a seperate thread this gives me time to clean and redetail them out and well as explain their design thoery (since they are more advanced or just as the jovians in cetain ways.) Then to top it off you got me thinking on thier advantages and disadvantages of the race to allow unique implimentation of thier type that isnt going to wind out being another cookie cutter.

Im currently redrawing the artemis other than the 'wing pods' and armor arrangement redone to look more like the tristans. Nothing changed about it.
Im currently looking for ways to simplify the aegis, its extrondinarly complex for a frigate sized ship so im thinking about merging the drone launcher and the gun mounts as one section and play around with the sensor hub side a bit more. But at least the 'face' is fixed to be gallente not amarr like the original one was.
Inking work cancelled due to accident with pen, el cheapo not the best way to go with concept work to much overleaking leads to alot of accidents.
All my previous works however are lost on my dead lap top working with somone to get the harddrive powerd up so i can yank the files off of it. Remote Back drive up left out the picture folder too ><

You dont have to tell me. Destroyers are frigate size but they do not look like typically frigates. They are larger to fit more weapon systems. Some of your destroyer styles simply dont look like a destroyer, not saying they are ugly.
Btw, is it just me or does the Deliverance look like a mix of Harbinger/Vagabond/Abaddon?

Like i said these ships are using lesser weapon systems and opting a bigger tank.
Got my lap tablet in its not my screen one but it will have to make due for now. and got a weekend off for once in the first time in 2 months so i took advantage of it.
Sorry if i havent updated any new things if you want i can upload some oldies from the last thread i had.
