Ever since the ability to complete missions in a fleet was added, the standings have not been shared for completing a storyline mission in a fleet. I filed a bug report on this several months ago and the reply was that it had already been resolved on the internal test server. Since it still does not work, I filed a new bug report, and this time the reply was that this is an intended game feature, and not a bug.
Which is it? Are storyline missions standings boost supposed to be shared between everyone in gang or not? If not, why? If so, why has it not yet been fixed?

you cant share storyline missions. it would be too easy to get your standing up.

You CAN share them, it just doesn't divide up the standings. Based on the first reply to my but report from months ago, this was considered a bug and should have been fixed. I would like a dev to explain if their view on the matter changed and if so, why.

By my understanding, it's intended that the only person to get a standing change from storyline missions is the person offered the mission.
The technical reason is, with normal missions, only one number is changing and needs to be recalculated per person, but with storyline missions, at least a dozen different standings are being modified, so to reduce server calls, only the person offered the mission gets the standing changes.
(and I could have sworn I saw a dev response to this stating about what I said, I'll see if I can dig it up...)

It shares corp standing, not faction standing.. Oveur stated some time ago that ccp is indecisive whether ppl should be allowed to gain faction standing this way, since it would in the end allow them to get positive to factions they previously angered past the point of no return.
So working as intended, I guess

According to the new reply to the bug report, it seems the corp gain is SUPPOSED to be shared, but isn't, so they are working on fixing that.
