eh, I finally broke down and read this topic... great title:)
I am about 2 weeks into it and frankly I am really enjoying the game. Hell, most of the time I have no idea what is going on due to the complexities of the game...need to spend some serious read/study time to fully understand the game- EVE is so NOT an FPS...
Now someone commented about playing 2 weeks, having way too much money and being able to fly every ship there is.. well I am training some level 4 skills that take 2 1/2 days just to go from level 3 to 4 so I am not sure how that works..anyway what I wanted to say is that if you have a group- ours is small so far- there are only 4 of us, it adds a tremendous amout to the game-- even if you are just smack talking while providing cover while one guy mines for ore and takes out Angels... it adds much to the game.
If you are looking for UT or CS....well it is definitely not gonna happen here. Chess with guns-- heh, nice. Like my 17 jump trip with a Hoarder--- 139 m/s thru .3 and .2 space-- tell me I wasn't sweating it-- hehe __________________________________

Great point arafel. It's a technical impossiblility for lfy every ship in the game after a week. Probably still impossible after a month. Maybe if you went straight for all the ship skills and took a few months you could do it.

The simple fact that you use your system specs (which aren't even as great as you like to think) as a signature tells more about you than any of the crap you utter. And oh yeah, go play a single player game and download all the cheats so you don't have to make an effort, this one clearly isn't for you.

there is actually a new patch coming in son that will hand everything over to the players so to research new equipment ships etc we have to do it and produce and sell these items. ----------------------------------------

Well, before EVE I played a MMORPG for a long time that had a vocation and lvl system. I changed about one Month ago, and must say: I like EVE alot. The skill sys is nice. The amount of players on a single world is realy amazing.. That's one thing I realy like about EVE.. It's not divided into single servers, but united into one world. And the thing I like most is.. even if there are 8k ppl online, you can enjoy the endless lonlyness of space :) To make it short: I like EVE. And yea, the fact, that kiddies are not that much attrackted by the game is nice too.

M8 if you want THIS STYLE of game IE go out meet people and the players are what makes the game. BUT you actually arent asleep and want a real buzz, show off yuor mad skillz. Go and play PLANETSIDE its an amazing game, basically if this game was designed to be an fps, instead of an RPG but with enfesis on Social interaction aka Nothing happens if you sit there and do nothing, but tommorow you could be goinhg round this virtual world acting like a king in a big ship

Seems to me that if you like the game play it and if you dont find something else to play that you do like........ Have only been on myself for a couple of weeks and havent even scratched the surface but enjoying every minute up to press. Its nice not to have to run round like a headless chicken with your ass on fire. Basically my advice would be if you dont like it thats up to you but don't put the game down just because it's not your sort of thing
