Did you try social engineering? Like talking like a rookie in local "hey gaiz my jetcan is almost full wheres the hauler guy did he go offline?" Something like that might get their attention. And um this thread has had 7000 views I know some people will have viewed multiple times but that's still a lot of people and what he said about your sec being -1 that could be the reason no one is taking your bait. -------------

I would be astonished if a veritable WAVE of can flipper deaths hadnt occured because of this thread. I'm finding it harder and harder to get any bites, maybe they are all skeered or being more cautious.

I do credit you in the original post, so don't even think about bringing me to court on copyright issues! Fair use!

I've found the same thing, just lately there's no bites on my cans except guys in BC and BS.

I'm a bit late to the party, but being a noob myself I thought I'd give it a go. Within 5 minutes of putting a bait can out, I had my first victim in a rifter. A bit touch and go as he took 4.6K damage, and he did almost exactly the same to me, the armour plate saved my bacon. It feels good to fight back!

I'd love to play, but I can't find any can flippers
I'm trying 0.8+ systems near noob starter systems, but no joy at all. I've got a Miner I on my ship for authenticity and at this rate I'm going to have to get a hauler alt (or start blowing up my own cans). |

Any seasoned ore relocation engineers (ORE) will notice one laser going and will stay away. Also, if your mining drones are not out, it will be assumed that you have a dronebay full of lights. Ore relocation engineers are not entirely stupid and most can spot a baitsprey at a thousand paces in the dark, with a blindfold on. Use your ingenuity to take the basic baitsprey idea, then modify and improve on it.
Beware the ore relocation engineers in assault frigates... |

I was worred about that, but I didn't even get anyone coming to look. All I had was belts full of Ibises mining (and, oddly, a Griffin).
Finally, after several hours (and a full jet can, almost) I found an idiot in a Caracal. With nice fittings. This is fun. |
