Just browsing around and looking at their killboard, it doesnt seem they are not doing alot of pvp.
Do they think in the end they will be safer if bob is kicked out of delve or would they have been smarter to stick it out with bob.
Will they every be able to really take contracts again?
I buy t2 building parts. Mail me offers. |

I think superfriends and the greater bob coalition need to reunite for the sake of delve. Atleast it would swing momentum in BoB's favor and make the great war interesting again. lol

They seem to be in " we'll let the Coalition do the ground work, well bring in caps and take the credit " mode. Typical MC after a month or two of fighting; lots of them mining infact Mynas was mining his heart out in Querious today whilst the rest of the Coalition tried to hold NOL.
Funny how MC goals go from period basis, to c3n, to NOL to bob dead. Although Selenee is always quick to deny any comments Mynas makes on their internal forums

It'd be nice if BoB got some more support... not that you necessarily need it

all they need to do is carrier bomb all the gates leading in to delve, drop a bubble on the gate and pick people off 1 by 1

Just kidding, made a post about how awesome Sins is there yesterday though. You get the feeling the devs might have played a little eve in their day too?

well, zakma came visit pr- yesterday. However I guess they're building supercapital tractor beams, built in the yards that bob and pets (/me points at himself) defended once, to move delve gates in order to create more mess.

Actually it's something I've wondered when they made this move. Who is going to trust MC now that they have territorial ambitions? Will they just become The Coalition?

How do you guys go about your empire? Capital rush? Frigate swarm?
I turtle + tech up and try to level up a single cap w/ support while building a defendable area.

I build nothing but Frigates and the occasional Cruiser for the first year and a half and then I tech up and spam huge amount of capitals and take over 5-6 regions in record time.

Edited by: Gungankllr on 18/02/2008 08:22:45 I suppose that the switch of MC to the other side was spurred by three things.
First, to be a real viable entity in Eve in a warfare sense you have to have access to 0.0 for your members. Sure, MC could operate on just the contract payouts to replace losses and whatnot, but in order to have the infrastructure to build your own capital fleet you really need access to 0.0 territories.
Since a great deal of territorial conflict revolves around POS and capital ships, in order for them as a Mercenary outfit to overcome and adapt to the ever-growing capital blobs they need to be able to put their own out there.
Second, a lot of the bubbas in MC are old-timers, and they've been around long enough to see how BoB operates. Sure, they're damned good at what they do, but I'm guessing that the prevalent attitude of "We're better than you" got old, pretty quickly.
I joined BoB myself a few years ago for a little bit, I just found that while they were great lads to each other, (and to me at the time) I really didn't feel I fit in with the way they dealt with other players in an overall sense.
I suppose at some point MC took a long, hard look at all the different people that were gunning for BoB and saw two things- One, We're standing in the road and the truck is coming, and Two- Why do all these people hate BoB so much? I'm sure that some of them did some serious thinking when they re-evaluated their stance with BoB.
Third, I used to talk to Seleene on a regular basis. (Not so much anymore, I think we ****ed him off when M.Pire decided to start shooting BoB while he was still blue to BoB himself)
Sel and most of the rest of the gang were tired of alliance warfare, and of picking sides. They wanted to go back to the way they were, doing contracts and no-hassle PVP.
I'm sure they have some sort of a deal with Goons and friends after this is all over, for however long it lasts.
Or maybe they don't. Point is, they could have made a decision to either shack up with BoB and drag this out forever, not being able to do what they really wanted, doing favors for somebody that expects it more than appreciates it, or they could swap sides and get this over with so they can get back to doing what they enjoy doing.
What makes everything so ridiculous is for a really long time, BoB and MC were adamant on the forums that they weren't in each others back pocket. Now BoB runs to the forums (not on a regular basis I guess, but whose alts are they anyhow) and whines about MC switching sides.
Anyhow, I may be right, I may be wrong- but complaining about it doesn't do anything, either you evolve or you perish.
There's a long list of alliances BoB can join in the retirement home if they don't figure something out.

i only build 1 cap ship for mobile defense then 2xrepair station + max hanger defense round all but my homeworld (save tac slots there for SUPER WEAPON later on). Then once i got a fair headstart in R&D throw out loads of cap ships and steamroller them.

Pretty much the same here, though instead of spamming cap ships I usually build a BS to start out with(levels its self up the best i've found). Then when I get the R/D going strong I try to pump out support cruisers(an overseer in every system that approaches your empire is just mean. and those <turns off all abilities and jump drives> curse copy is equally evil). Then a carrier or whichever ship has good fleet support depending on race.
I grow my fleet around 2 cap ships, and blob my way through the enemy(having the 'can see jumps 2 systems out' skill first lets you be a real ass and catch cap ships without their main fleet). Eventually someones cap blob overwhelms my fleet, by then though I've usually forgotten to build anything for a few minutes, and have the money to r/d and build a large cap fleet, tailored to kill whatever he/she had to kill me with ;)

They didn't join us. They wanted to take Period Basis for themselves and BoB resisted. Us knocking on Delve's door happened to be a convenient time to cooperate with each other so we could both achieve our goals.
We don't like each other, but we both dislike BoB a whole lot more, so we're willing to put aside our differences until they die. Simple as that.

I managed to grind down a huge random map to just me and 2 more pesky rivals. At the moment I'm on good terms with them while I clean up the pirate nests and prepare for the final assault.
On a note, what race do you prefer? I like the vasari combat capital a lot, it spanks blobs of ships silly, but in overall I like TEC more since their novalith cannon accomodates my blitz style a lot while the mercantile techtree keeps me aflot in terms of money (and therefore size of my superblob).
I'd slap seleene with the proverbial glove, but I've given up on multiplayer strategies since I had a breakdown with starcraft

So you moved MC in the only direction you thought you could because you wanted to save it .. and then you left it?
How does that work?
