As I said in another thread, this isn't just bad for people who don't pay attention and get scammed (I agree that people should use caution), but it affects each and every player who is trying to LEGITIMATELY use escrow. There's so damn much SPAM on these things that it is impossible (literally impossible, because it only displays x items) to find anything on Escrow.
So the victims of this aren't just people who don't pay attention, but also people who DO PAY ATTENTION and are trying to EARN A LIVING.
CCP needs to get this fixed ASAP; either by making Escrow more "market-like" or taking 1 or 2 of their forum moderators extraordinaire and putting them on Escrow moderation.

If CCP isn't going to do anything to prevent/discourage ppl from putting scam orders in escrow, then we need kill lists to filter out those users. Also, how about a 5 order limit per avatar? Personaly, I don't think the scam orders should be allowed at all.

The sad thing is that even if CCP did something to discourage scam escrows, like put a bug red icon over the scams that says "SCAM, DON'T BUY!!", people would still buy them.
CCP can't code around people's stupidity. Nobody can.

I've read this thread from front to back - and while I think you have a valid point about the surplus of scammers in escrow - there is one small problem with a suggestion that was made, that being the ability to 'block' someone on your list so they don't show up in escrow. Currently - anyone with a free 'alt' slot on an account can post their scams for 7 days with the alt, collect on the ones the 'suckers' buy - then kill off the alt and create a new one with a totally different name.
So how's blocking gonna help?

correct me if I'm wrong, but in an earlier (few months ago) CSM, weren't we told we'd be given the ability to block an entire Account?

Good point. Maybe a fine or security hit would be better then. Of course alts can be abused in his way as well. However CCP did say they could easily tell if its a main char or an alt so they could then fine or drop the security of the main char.
Im now seeing escrow items with absolutely nothing in them at all for 1mil from the same person. This just shouldnt be allowed.

I've made a list of some of the scams on the escrow atm. Its very late and I'm sure I didn't get them all.

I wouldnt put the high priced items in the same category as scammers. People should be allowed to ask what they want for the item as long as they are honest about what the item is.
Sort of bugs me when people try and tell others what they can sell their items for. See it all the time in trade channel. Very rude IMO.

Escrow needs a human moderator, just like the forums to prevent spam.
While scamming is part of the game, its making escrow useless, 9 out of 10 items are scams it seems.

Putting up items for an grosly overpriced rate is the same as scamming imo, thats way I added them.
