Siigari Kitawa Gallente The Aduro Protocol	Posted - 2008.02.19 12:42:00 - [1] After two and a half years of EVE, I have finally purchased my very first Dreadnought, named the Cuddle Nugget :D She's sho sexay. :D I have an honorary video the Cuddle Nugget's First Flight of me undocking and getting ready to jump over to my home system of which I am very proud :D Then some people tried to come and gank poor Siigari's new Moros, and I was rather upset >=\| Fortunately, a little white lie in local got them to all leave haha. The 1000mm Railguns were a few jumps over so all I had for the first flight were lolerz Neutron Blaster Cannons. I made the trip out to our 0.0 home safely, albiet one system without a station where we had a slight glitch.. My gangmate dropped a cyno and I clicked "Jump". Problem: You cannot jump because you are 10.0 AU away and your jump drive only allows you to jump 10.0 AU". Greaaaaaaaaaaaat. So we had to set up another cyno. Meanwhile some guy in a Thorax in local is scanprobing me, and I'm getting a little nervous. Not that my Ogres that can deal 1089 DPS are going to have any problems with it :P My small support fleet was able to tackle. Well, they warped out as we were anticipating my next jump. New problem. The Cyno pilot was short 50 fuel /o\ So yeah I'm freaking out and look, here's the Thorax, 80km away. I warped, safespotted, then logged. lol. Ugh, piloting a Dread. Anyway, capital ships in EVE are the coolest thing ever. They are MASSIVE. HUGE. It's so awe-inspiring to see one, and I am totally in love with my Cuddle Nugget ♥ :) Oh, a final note: I did go out ratting in it my first night :D I love the cargobay lol. And a video note: you can't hear me on vent because I have my own mic muted on recording And one last last last note: CCP, create faction XL Antimatter!

Turning 180 degrees is like trying to steer a boat on dry land. Aligning to warp is like watching paint dry. Blowing up enemy ships in one or two shots in siege mode is insanely fun. Smashing small ships in just two volleys of drones firing is priceless.

I remember being all excited about my new toy....until I undocked in it. My thorax was bigger than the Chimera! This was before the Chimera graphic bug was fixed so you could imagine my disappointment with it at the time. My epeen got so deflated from that . But getting your first capital ship should be something to feel proud about and I am glad the OP was happy and giddy about his first dread. Nice change of pace here on these forums. ps, for any future cap pilots....train your support skills first like jump drive calibration 4 and capital reps and (for dreads) AWU 5 before jumping in your 1-2billion isk ship. You'll thank me later. There are far too many capitol kills where the kill-ee was fitting BS sized reps on their capitols. But they do make for good comedy setups to discuss

I remember getting my Thanatos several months ago and taking it ratting against the rogue drones (we were in the drone regions at the time) as soon as I could, to play with the fighters. I didn't even have capital reps on it yet, so when a hostile, whom we knew to be a nanopilot who would love to pin a carrier down while his nanofleet arrived, entered the system, I **** myself and jumped out to a POS beacon next door... without my fighters Fortunately I bolted quickly such that the hostile didn't realise I was a capitals pilot and continued his hunt without going to shoot my fighters down, and I was able to pick them up again shortly after. -Dru

They are becoming diluted thanks to carriers and they still have the ability to instill fear on the battlefield, just like the description says. You guys that are close to flying capitals... keep going for it! They are so rewarding and so much fun!

And of course you have to rat in your dread! It's a huge ship with big guns, you need something to shoot. What would you do, jump into low sec and bust a camp? Caps are great fun, especially when you have a major engagement, with the support ships dogfighting inbetween the caps.
