I vote to destroy the Molea cemetary and clean up all that unused space junk that is there at the minute. C'mon people, you say you want less lag, then you go and spam space with useless cans carrying useless corpses!
All, and i do mean all cans, etc. should fall under the new anti space-junk measures talked about here: http://myeve.eve-online.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=540

If you actually read the replies in the thread you will notice no exception is being made and the only favouritism the cemetary is getting is PrismX *MIGHT* help the owner tear it down.
Its unfortunate that something that adds depth to this game and brings a human feel to it has to go in the name ofperformance. I'm allfor lagless fleet battles but not in the sake of destroying what makes MMORPG's different from other videogames. There is no other way for players to make space seem habitable then to leave there own special mark like the cemetary.
I don't understand why there are so many people want to strip EVE of its uniqueness. This game isent just about the hardware, there was a human feel to it at one point too.
Speaking of stripping features to aid the hardware; Remember how Warp to Zero reduced the lag because it removed hundreds of bookmarks? No? Oh Geez, that didnt work either.

Um, I don't think you were around back then.
With the introduction of warp to zero, lag was reduced MASSIVELY.

I was very well around back then, and I remember it quite dearly because I was one of those newbs who celebrated Warp to Zero. Check the play time before making assumptions eh?
I will disagree with you and say I personaly noticed no difference in lag WHATSOEVER (If I capitalize my adjective does that make it true?), and the only reason I dare post such a slanderous remark is because there have been many who post the same feelings (oh how they come out of the woodwork for PrismX's Devblog).

You know I find it really interesting that this place has become the focus of your hate, and personally I would like to know the real reason you want to get rid of it.
Is it because this person has done something that has been praised by a lot of people and you get nothing for anything you do?
Now as for performance just how busy a system is Molea? cause whenever I have gone through it I have never seen any more than a couple of people in there, and really unless you go near where the cemetary is you shouldn't be affected by it. If you are then at a guess you need to look at your system as you have more problems than that cemetary.
Now I personally hope that CCP decides to do something with the person that created the cemetary, maybe a small sized station or monument or something like that where the corpses could be laid to rest & maybe even have a way of getting info about the person/player that used to be that corpse.
Anyway I guess that no matter what people do there will always be those that just can't help but to try and wreck it all.

Oh damn, space zombie apocalypse, calling it now. * * * In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

there are belts with WAY more cans in 1 belt, then this whole cem. Now imagine that system having @ least 8 belts, yea, I know of one, just can't remember that name atm.
But if you wanna really reduce the lag, go spend some time petionting all the macro/farmer missioners.

...
No... let's not... I like personality, it tastes good. Once again, the GY is not that big of a deal.
Hmmm... it has around 300 to 500 containers... the EVE universe has somewhere around 500,000 to 5,000,000 containers floating around at any given time... let's take 500,000 divided by 500, and you get 1/1000 of the total containers in EVE, and that figure's definitely higher than what it really is.
So, given the hypothetical situation where the GY takes up 1/1000 of the containers in the EVE universe (once again, it prolly takes up 1/10000 of the total number of containers), if you take it away, you take away 1/1000 of the container lag on the servers, which is not very much anyway... I don't see the big deal here.
Please, if I'm wrong, show me how the GY makes a big difference, if you can't (and you probably can't), then you're just being a Devil's Advocate, and you need to stop for your own sake. Let the GY be, if the community wants to take care of it, it'll stay up, if the community doesn't, it'll go down.

I look at it this way. Its one system (or node if you wish) that its loaded on. I personlly think it was and still is a good idea. Even as it stands now I'm sure there is naught but a fraction of cans there compared to some of the high-sec belts.
