For teaching me a valuable lesson about watching what I'm doing while mining in 0.2 space :)
I play while I work in our family videostore, not to crowded with customers but he got me while I was entering a new customer, so I didn't notice the convo soon enough not that it matters, I got away with my pod and I wouldn't have payed him anyway :)

Hazard Ops doesn't 'Negotiate' (:P) with pirates...
i doubt you would have had Ant if he was present/more vigilant, so lucky day :)
and 30 mill, or an extra 45 mill for a new BS? 15 mill is nothing :D so no probs indeed Ant :)

Heh sorry for the offtopic but about 20 minutes after Antonius went down, i went back to Gehi (from Ham). Scanned the system, there was a thorax on the scanner. So i started checking belts, finaly found him. Double scramble-web, ransomed 4 mil out of him. So im enjoying myself, go back to the station to buy some missles. Convo pops up (same guy).:

Threatening someone real life harm or destruction of property is considered a crime, no matter if the act is carried out or not, it can and does in some cases cause emotional suffering.
Not funny by a long shot that some little no lifer has to threaten to sabotage very costly personal computers, those eve-mails need to be sent to CCP and the person banned from the game, not perma ban, reason is following.
He might get upset if he looses a battleship and implants one day and then after some digging he finds out that the person who killed him lives in the same country, he goes and kills him, people like that are insane, they need to be removed before they cause real life harm because of a game.
And for people who say he probably didnt mean and would probably never do anything.
What if he does? he showed that he might, so he needs to be removed from the game period.

just wondering, would CCP give out information about this guys account if some group like the FBI asked for it?
Odds are it was some kid, cause the whole convo/way of dealing with the ransom really seemed like something someone with no social skills/lack of perspective on life would do. (not to be mean, just an observation).
Really, thats harassment or something, and CCP prolly has a credit card # attached to that player (unless using game cards or something like that).
Also, thats awsome, a pirate who HUNTS (not ganks at gates) and ransoms people... amazing, I didn't know they where still alive, I thought some big meteor killed them all.
If i didn't hate pirats so much (i'll kill you some day, some day a LONG way off) you'd inspire me to be one.
question for you: would you even bother with a shuttle? would you go on the chance they have implants and try to ransom an exploring shuttle? or just leave it alone?

Hmmm its a hard one...depends where the shuttle would be, and depends on what corp really. Most likely no because i don't want to loose too much sec status for nothing. Also, i wouldn't generalize. I gate camp like every other pirate. However gate camping is more of a waiting game, which sometimes ****es me off. Also for gate camping you need a completely different setup, and the main goal is to get the loot from by-passers. The goal of hunting belts is to get money. I mean, it doesnt take much skill to beat a battleship full of miner 2s, so nothing to write home about :)

Silly Nego... no amount of money other then the cost of a full battleship imho replaces the joy of wreaking some guys multi million isk shi-t. Some of us just have our ethics and morals about these things.... Money isnt everything

also take in mind that lots of people that are mining in empire space aren't 100% insured. together with that and the fact that they mostly aint equiped to run from a scrambling player pirate. makes it not that easy to say no against payment.
on the other hand it's for the pirate more intresting to get 20? mill for a bs then to have some miners II as loot. 
personally i would never pay aswell in first place because i insure my bs's 100% annd in second place i would have mwd and warp core stabz on if i would go and mine in 0.5 >

Kudos to Negotiator! Coming from another Pirate corp i have to say that ransoming/blowing ships up for loot/etc, etc, is what pirates do, it's part of the game, and the whole security rating of systems in EVE reflects this ...
To actually try and send someone a RL virus through what ever means for an in-game situation is frankly petty in the extreme 
The GM's consistantly warn people that < 0.4 is dangerous, and time and time again people don't seem to get it! Wake up and smell the coffee people! - if you don't want to get ganked by Player Pirates in 0.0 - 0.4 then take precautions - don't **** & moan about it when you loose your ship, and yes (to whoever posted it before), maliciously trying to harm someone's personal equipment is a criminal offense and for people that get just a bit mixed about in game and out-game, it is an IRL offense not just another little bit of retaliation for in-game happenings!
Get used to Pirates, whatever corp we come from, we're here to stay!
if any consulation though, we're busy fighting each other a lot of the time
