Or did the server just fall over? I can't ping the game server, I can get a tracert up to the last hop before the server IP, and can't at this time telnet to it.
Also I noticed that half the forums were broken as well. Is there a connection? It's only in the last 5 minutes I've been able to read posts without getting an internal error message from the website servers.

Noticed the same thing, was getting an Error 500 from the forums (internal server error), and the Tranquility server seems to be down too. AND I have a skill to switch.
CCP, get your act together! My pennies are being wasted! :(

Definitely not just you mate. I lost a ship because of this crap. The entire eve site was down for 90 minutes, for me that is. I can't connect at the moment, all i'm getting is "Server Status: Unknown".

Confirmed here as well. Lucky was already docked after a hard mission but will miss time bonus.

I think I lost a Navy Issue Raven because of this. I was in the middle of World's Collide Level 4.

Same problem, was online, went afk for a drink, came back to no connection, my corp on vent are all complaining about DC so, it's widespread, US only or all of us?

Not quite Navy Issue, just a bog standard Raven and a Maelstrom, both with T2 fittings, mostly.

Same here. Cannot connect to server, Server Status: Unknown. This issue also happened earlier this afternoon, from around 4-6PM PST. It was fine afterwards for a while... then an hour earlier it died again.

Yeah, it is restarting. After about a 20 minute delay, I was finally able to reach the servers again via a traceroute.
I'm somewhat new to EVE... is this commonplace? I mean, do the servers just go down like this from time to time?

I wish ccp would at least update the main page about current problems so we are not left guessing. WE pay their salaries they need to keep US updated. It is one thing to have problem, it is another keep people in the dark.

Sometimes during patches it happens, but usually its pretty smooth... usually.

I don't think this has anything to do with the patches... those were deployed hours and hours ago and nothing seemed to go wrong then. I'm willing to bet they just had a good old fashioned server crash. Confidence inspiring, eh? :-)

It goes down to 0 seconds, and then it restarts at 4 seconds. It just does that over and over. It's kind of annoying. I think that it's trying to see how many times it can get my hopes up and crush them.

If you were locked on by the mobs and in combat...mebbe. if you were just salvaging all the wrecks are prolly gone if you "completed" the mission.

Yeah I always feel better when the client at least updates with a CCP message with some news to as what's going on instead of feeling like I got phished or keylogged. I wish it was quicker. Guess we have this stupid little post.
