For the first time I am actively experimenting with going into 0.0 space. And i have found that my equipment really hasn't been holding to standards. I have lost two ships out there and while I am not giving up on it I have decided on asking for a better way to equip the ships I take out there. Currently I have been flying amarr cruisers, the last one I lost was an omen. Is there anykinda equipment layout for cruisers that would make them effective in pvp or pve?

Please describe how you are losing the ships, so we can answer your question.

Edited by: Helen Hunts on 22/02/2008 06:31:03 Ships & Modules section will be a better source of information than GD. PvE setups tend to focus more on tanking damage. PvP setups tend to feature more gank.
As for losing ships... Maybe you should play around in high-sec and learn your ships and fittings a little better before running with the big boys. (Or bring lots of money with you for replacements) _______________________________

Work on your drones skills a little and use an arbitrator, or tank better and use a Maller perhaps. Or, best of all, trade in the cruseir for a BC, like a prophecy or Harbringer. --------------

OK, this is a long complicated topic tbh.
1. What are you trying to do out in 0.0 Wander around? Kill People? Rat, Mine ? 2. Are you alone? 3. What sort of space?
First off - get into an interceptor. Cruisers are too heavy and slow to do much more than get ganked by an opportunist recon pilot. Then... practive. 0.0 is rpettyunfogiving. Get to know the area. where and when camps are active, how to use the map to look at stuff. that kinds crap. Third, use corp / alliacne / mega-ally-blob intel chanels.

If you are going there to have a look around, take a MWD'd frig - a fast one.
If you want to PvP solo, use a nano hac.
If you want to rat, your gona have to sneak in a cloaked (not recon) BC/BS and hide evertime someone comes into local.
Join a 0.0 corp if you want to mine.
Have fun.

Let me elaborate on my situation, I took my omen out into 0.0 sec to experiment with ratting and to do some exploration. I find my ability to rat in 0.0 sec isn't exactly where I would want it to be. Not to mention pvp power. I understand in a ship set up you can't have it both ways so for right now I was just going to start with pve for cruisers (for some reason I have come to like them, although I might try for something heavier later).
