When you got 8% back each month, yeah 14x8=100 = 112... ok... so you helped him out for a profit of 12%, But at a loss of 16%?
Read OP more carefuly:
My offer to you consists of a minimum 6% return every month for 14 months. Additional wealth will be shared when it occurs. It will be plentiful. At the end of the period your 100% of your investment is returned.

6% is actually pretty good these days and there is no 7%/month CD available from DB (not even close to it).
