my character is in jita and I cant log in. shows entering game for 5 or 10 min and then goes back to char selection screen. anyone else?

Me too Holly.
Stuck stuck stuck.
And all thanks to my modem being CRAP and DCing every 30-90 mins. Got DC in Jita, and that was the end of EVE for Cypher :(

Well it is way past primetime and Jita is still fubar, so something unusual is afoot. Bet those silly patches broke something yet again...

Keep on trying, you'll eventually log on, undock, warp to any gate, and jump, once you're out of jita, pray and thank god, flee and never come back, it's that simple really 
Landing in Jita is much worse than landing into a bubble.. at least with the latter, you have a chance to land at all..

well I wanted to buy a ship so I had to go to jita to get my gear and got stuck! I usually don't go to jita unless when I need to go and get something. I will soon get out of there for good but I can't right now.

You DONT have to go. Name me one item that isnt buyable outside jita? The only reason ppl go to jita is because they are lazy.

I'm pretty confident that you didn't actually have to go to Jita. In the Forge, sure, there's a lot concentrated in Jita. However, there are quite a few other regions in New Eden - they even have their own hubs. Perhaps the stuff there is a little more expensive, but it's well worth it not to have to deal with Jita or the rest of the things that come from the overcrowding of the Forge. Just about the only thing that is really rare elsewhere are contracts for faction or officer modules, and if more people get out of the Forge, even that will change.

I see your point, I can't ask you not to go there, however, I guess the real advice would be to never log-off at Jita.. 
Usually I have no trouble going through/picking up mods and ships from there, I know it gets laggy, but you often get the chance to do whatever you went there to do; the only thing that gets you stuck is logging off at jita.. it happened to me a couple of times before.. mainly because of my crappy connection, and you'll get REALLY stuck in there when the game boots up, especially if your connection is already screwed..
Just be a little patient while logging on, if you get a black screen, don't assume that your client crashed, wait.. it'll unfreeze eventually.. same goes for undocking..
