Edited by: Seatoo on 23/02/2008 12:30:03 First off I want to say that this is a not a "recruit me plx post".
I've been playing for around two months after being convinced by roommates (I have experience in other MMOs) I have around 1.4m SP and 100m raw isk + another 100m in assets, I fly a drake fitted for full a mix of tanking/DPS for missions and pvp. I can almost fly a Raven, I mainly want to pvp however I am fully aware that I will either need to mission or have an industrial alt to fund that.
However after sitting in a NPC corp (my roommates rarely play, mostly to change skills) I am getting rather bored. I can get lvl 4 missions from Zainou (around 7 standing atm) but can't come close to doing them on my own. Everytime I see a corp recruiting on these forums I see 5million SP required or something of the like.
Is my only option to wait and grind in Highsec until I have a huge amount of SP and THEN try and find a real corp? Is there a place where I can stay in 0.0 or lowsec, people that will help me learn? Or should I just not renew in a few days when my account expires, and like my roommates do, train and never play?
edit: and its annoy as heck when the moderators delete/moderate my posts because they think I'm an alt RSF vs BoB is far more epic and interesting than anything in wow....ever

That's only 10K per day.... even newbies train at around 1100+ SP/hr.
You're doing it wrong
My roommates helped me make this char, is 1.4m is around 2 months bad? I've been training almost non stop except for the first week because I didn't realize it took so freaking long to learn skills >.<

I'm not asking for "things to do"
If you read the post, I am feeling abandoned in EvE, why should I play a MMO when I'm basically by myself most of the time? I can play a single player game if I wanted that.
edit: mfg? alti? wtf is red vs blue?

Originally by: Kyoto Luyi 3M SP is not a 'huge amount' as I pointed out above. If you've really played 2 months you should have:
Starter char 800K SP + (60 days x 24000 SP = 1.4M SP) = 2.2M SP
If you train learning skills that rate goes up to over 1500 SP/hr = 36,000 SP/day
in one month you would train 1.08M SP.
Many Corporations will take a character with 3M SP, it won't take long.
Some Corps (no comment on their quality) will take you now - just stick an advert in the recruitment forum.
Thanks, I've basically played trial + one month so I guess a month and half is a better estimate. Most of my learning skills are at 3, some 4. I foolishly decided to go right for a BS and, like I said I didn't train AT ALL for the first while of my account.
Thanks for all the responses I've gotten. My roommates have never been into anything "big" they are both 24m+ SP players and all they say is "get your caldari state up, train more skills!" I think once I'm at 5+ caldari state they will get back into eve..I hope...until then I'm grinding lvl 2 zainou by myself =/

That's a superb hint from Minos.
I cant emphasize this enough, EvE Uni does not sound like a good corp but SERIOUSLY, give it go, they are EXCELLENT. youll get community, prolly a war or 2 and a LOAD of low SP people all in the same boat as you who are looking to learn.
EvE Uni 4tw.
honestly, its prolly the best organisation for newbs in any game anywhere.
my first pvp death was to smash in Tunadan thanks for the suggestions everyone, I will check out eve university and agony.
cheers!
any other comments are appreciated!
