Short answer: No.
Long Answer: No, so everyone should stop *****ing because their 200vs200 battles lag, take any other MMO, for this example I'll use WOW (yes wow, I like that game and it's a good example, hush), back when there weren't battlegrounds (instanced pvps), the only kind of pvp was 'world' pvp, there were a few places that'd get raided daily, but as soon as the amount of people rose above 100 It'd start going slower. 200+ and it'd get pretty unplayable for most people. Same with EVE, it's just not possible, yet.

You're a game designer's dream. People ***** because they pay to play a game that fails to deliver its promise of epic fleet fights. People ***** because the heart pounding, exciting aspects of the game grind to a halt because of a server that may be as advanced as possible but still doesn't do what we need. Its bull****.

MU Online Castle Siege can take 1600+ people, four alliances with upto 400 people in each go at it, one alliance defends the castle, the other 3 attack, plus randoms can go to the server too but everyone can attack them and theres no real point in them being there as they cannot take the castle without their alliance signing up. Was lag free for me when I played, I was in 13thSign/Defcon and Phalanx alliance

Keep on doing huge fleet fights which the servers can't handle and ***** about it, I'm sure that'll fix the problem. I'm just being realistic here.
So what if the server could handle 200 vs 200? Then people will bring the next amount of people required to **** the server up.
I don't know why I bother responding to you though, from what I've seen from your posting so far you're just a bad excuse for a troll.

Not technically a MMO, but Aces High 2 supports over 700 pilots in the air with a WW2 flight simulation. Its pretty wild when you have a couple of hundred various planes in close proximity to you
Of course its just like Eve in one respect; you get targetted you die. Not much lag though, HighTec Creations has done a very good job in its programming. But it is strictly a multi-player flight sim; great air-to-air combat but nothing like Eve with its markets and such.

MU is not Single-Sharded and the big 1000+ Battles are events, for which they scram every little bit of processor-power together. So it can't be compared, as it's not as complex as EvE.
There is no other MMO outthere which can handle these numbers actually on a persistent server. .

There isn't a game that allows you to have 300 vs 300 without lag at ANY given spot.
Some games might have sort of battlefields that might be able of handling it, but it will be in a specific designated spot. --- -The only real drug problem is scoring real good drugs |

Oh I'm sorry, does being called out on your sycophantic whining make you angwy wit wittle ole me? The game fails to deliver on it's promises. You can rationalize it any way that you you want. If they're going to let 25000 people be online on their single shard epic universe, they need to f'in allow us to play the game. It SICKENS me to read quotes like "there was only 4-5 minutes module lag activation, which was nice for a change". THE GAME FAILS TO DELIVER AND NEEDS TO GET FIXED. You can go ahead and keep sucking on the tit though. I can tell you this, if I wasn't buying GTCs with isk, there is not a CHANCE i would pay for a game this broken.

2 players in same location = 2 send/recieve through server 100 players in same location = 9,000 send/recieve 1000 players in same location = 499,500 send/revieve 35,000 players in same location = 1,224,965,000 send/recieve
Got it? That will address all your concerns regarding why the community is spread out and why other games have shards.

Plz link to the official CCP info that has ever in the history of the game given out a hard number for what is advertised as a 'Fleet Fight'. Don't bother though because you won't find it. If CCP has failed on any part of fleet fights then its because they made eve a sandbox game and the current game mechanics let the playerbase ambitions far exceed the servers ability to handle it. This will always be true. Period. So don't ***** about the servers as they are quite stable and lag free for the vast majority of the playerbase.(except Jita/Motsu but those fall under the fleet fight sandbox snafu) You need to ***** about CCPs implimentation of pos/fleet warfare and have them find out a way to make it fun without needing a node crashing blob.

CCP never said how many people will be able to fight each other without lag. lag is the result of human nature. People tend to bring huge numbers to succeed. Simple as that.
I've had a Fight three days ago with 100 pilots in the same grid. Guess what: there was no lag at all.
Keep crying about not beeing able to fight with 600 pilots in the same grid. It does not interest me at all, because I think that this is stoopid anyways.
As long as there's 50 vs. 50 possible without lag I think that we're pretty fine. And it is.
Nothing to add here. .
