I've flown the Osprey a little bit as a healing cruiser, to help out my wingman (slightly noobier than I am) on some level 2 missions, but now I'll start flying level 4 missions with my corp, where I'll be the shield healer.
Obviously I should train the 2 skillz to maximize cap recharge and cap points (I'm pretty much there), and I should train Shield Emission Systems.
But are there any other skillz I can train, to improve my Osprey healing cruiser? I already have Caldari Cruiser at level 5.

You should train Logistics and fly Basilisk then.
You'll want to train skills for logistics drones:
- Drones - One drone per level
- Repair Drone Operation - Bonus to logistics drones
- Scout Drone Operation - Increased range for all drones
- Electronic Warfare Drone Interfacing - Increased range for all drones
- Drone Durability - More hp to drones
Also support skills are nice, but don't really effect your healing ability:
- Navigation - Move faster
- Evasive Maneuvering - Agility
- Spaceship Command - Agility
- Shield Management - More shield
- Shield Operation - Faster shield recharge
- Shield Compensation - If you use shield booster for yourself
- Tactical Shield Manipulation 4 - For those tech2 active hardeners
- Engineering - More grid
- Electronics - More cpu
- Long Range Targeting - Target further
- Targeting - Target more targets
- Multitasking - Target even more targets, very nice for logistics in large gangs
- Signature Analysis - Target faster
- Mechanic - More hull hp
- Hull Upgrades - More armor hp
Of course you'll want to train skills for rigs, various cap recharge modules, if you use ab/mwd then skills for them. That should be pretty much all skills somehow related to Logistics ships.

Thanks, Jameroz, but that's a list of generic support skillz, rather than ones specific to the Osprey in its healer role, and I actually already know about the existence of every one of them, including what it does.
I was asking for skillz specific to remote shield healing, but it appears as if there aren't any.
Thanks, though.

Edited by: Estel Arador on 23/02/2008 18:40:19 Energy Emission Systems is the only specific one; but you've mentioned it already.
And by the way, it's skills...

I agree. Not being picky, but you're going to get frowned upon by the older players :D
It's Logistics, not healing. You're a pilot specialized in logistic, not a healer.
I don't care if you call it healer, but I'd get use to logistics. ------------------------------------------------- U verspil tijd vertalen tekst naar Engels van Nederlands. Translate this text. |

Well beyond training Cruiser 5, Logistics 5 and Shield Emission Systems there are only the drones... which do give nice little boost and they can continue healing even if you get jammed.
You're welcome.

Stop saying healer.
Ship fitting skills are important (as always) since the remote repairers and transfers (not remote healing units) are quite cpu intensive.

What does it matter if he says healer? Everyone will know what he means.
I say clan and not corp.

It's because people usually say that when they come from games like WOW and those terms are not appropriate in the RP setting of EVE. For instance: healer -> logistics, repairer or "repper" fit more what is happening ingame, unlike a healer being an actual character.
It might sound like nit-picking to you but some people really really hate it.

There is no "z" in "skills". Saying "skillz" makes you sound lake a 14-year-old who thinks he's a "1337 h4z0r".
There is no "healing" either.

Frowned upon by the older players for saying healer? You mean the like the older players that hunt noob systems and shoot week-old miners? Those older players? That makes it all worth it!!
A lot of terminology crosses lines in MMO's. You think 'TANK' was created in Eve Online? Why do we say 'Rooms' in missions and complexes? There are no rooms in space!
Who gives a rats-a** what you call it! To quote Stephen from the movie Braveheart, 'Just answer the F***ing question'.

If you get upset or if it bugs you that some says they healing instead or repping, I don't think the person saying healing has the problem.

This.
- EFT screen shots are NOT an accurate example of a ship's abilities. |
