My housemate wants to start playing again but can't remember his username or password. I can find the "retrieve password" button but have not found one for "retrieve username". Has anyone got any ideas?

Let him try emailing support with any identifying info he has (the rl name, email, creditcard he used on his account, etc), perhaps they can help.

My only worry is CCP support tends to take at least a month to respond to anything

'A month' is a huge exaggeration. It might take a few days (reimbursement petitions will take longer). And if the alternative is 'never', a few days ain't that bad, right?

It is your friend's fault for not storing that information for possible use later.
Just so that your buddy gets to play quicker, lets cut all the red tape and just give out an account of his choosing. Whose account does he want?

Just so that your buddy gets to play quicker, a) lets skip the other petitions (in same category) to help out his friend cause he whines in forums b) lets cut all the security red tape and just give out an account of his choosing. Whose account does he want?
Yes because everyone writes down info they might need in two yrs time, bye Mr alt.

No, not everyone. Stupid people don't store user credentials. Say hello to Password Safe.
Now, go do it via petition system like everyone else.

Where did I ask for an exception made? I wanted to know if there was a way of doing it through the website without using a petition. If your saying petition is the only way then fine thats the way I will tell him to go, but seriously get a grip with the attitude problem.

And there is the main. (or maybe even another alt)
Iirc, if you email wrangler or do a petition, you'll get things sorted out, he'll most likely be asked some security questions to make sure its him.

Ok guys - no reason that this thread cannot stay civil.
Best advice, as already mentioned, is for your friend to send a petition to [email protected]
I do not believe he will need to wait an excessively long time for a response.
