But would that make you wanna stab my eyes out?
Switching to VB from Java is pretty much the equivalent of stabbing yourself in the face, repeadetly.
I switched from vb6 to java, but i'll learn someday vb.net. (And i'll stay on vb6 if I believe it is necessary)
I'm not planning of staying on a language forever
Ah! And saying why you suggest it is welcome too

At least i hope it is faster than jave because it isn't an interpreted language...

You have no idea how hard you failed just now.
The JIT Compiler got introduced to the JVM 7 years ago. So how is it an "interpreted language"?
Also, benchmarks. I really wonder where you people get your information from.
Lately i need to learn electromagnetic physics, telematics, electronics and signal theory. These days (and until i have a subject about it) i leave computer programming as a hobby so i don't stop looking for the lowest level details . That's why i ask info here instead of searching for it myself.
Edit: Ah! and i'll add Cryptography to the list in a month '^^

The difference between a compiled and interpreted language is hardly a "low level detail".
I didn't mean that it was not important, as far as i know, if a language is interpreted or compiled affects the lowest levels of a computer architecture, this aspect is more close to the machine and more related to assembler language than more complex and abstract programming languages that are in a higher level.
Java was meant to be a interpreted language, and works like that on the immense majory of the systems and cases so don't blame me if I did not think about the most bizarre (I'm obvously exaggerating) usage of a tool, i'm a mere student, not a genious wannabe.

You will never be any good whatsoever at programming with that attitude.
How can I say it - wise people know everything, intelligent people at least know where to search and one dumb person can ask more than ten smart ones answer.
Great! I would become so depressed if my had to work only as programmer, because in that case, I'd had to throw away the last years of my live.
I came here in search of suggestions, not to preted i was a wise programer that is lazy to test the IDE's for himself, ofc i could install all three aplications and start trying but i don't have the time for that, in few weeks i'll be involved in an electronics project so my spare time will be greately reduced to start now testing a lot of things when someone has done that before...
P.S.: Don't take such an aggressive attitude, you are not my professor, and there are more important things to know than java...

Just passing info along...
He likes programming on windows or on linux?
I believe jGRASP is more known to the linux community... but i'm not sure.
The friend who talked me about it was used to code java while on linux
