hi all,
I recently fitted a raven on eve fitting too and got it to where i could run an active tank without losing any cap. I went ingame and fitted the ship the same i had in the fitting tool, and i was losing cap. Has anyone else noticed this problem?

Depending on the setup, your cap can sustain at different levels. Just because something perma runs doesn't mean it stays at 100%

Basically what the previous guy said. Depending on what your cap recharge rate is, your overall cap level will stabilize at different perecentages.
Unless you mean the cap decreases all the way to 0 and your mods shut off. That would be a different story. Are you sure your skills/implants etc are inputed correctly in EFT?

Yep my character stuff was loaded into the fitting tool. I ran the tank and it just kept dropping but it never went down to no cap, I'll run it a bit longer and just see what happens. where does cap normally stablize at?

Optimal cap regen is around 35%, so where cap stabilizes at really depends on your regen rate against the recharge curve.
Easiest way to tell where(if at all) your cap will stabilize is to undock and give it a real test, to be honest.

There's two numbers in EFT for the Cap.
What you use per second, and how much recharge you've per second at peak. Peak-recharge is around 35%, so until you don't drop below that, you're fine
EFT is quiet accurate from my experience, but if you wan't to permarun your Raven, then you better have 5% more cap-recharge then EFT is suggesting. .

cap and shields both regen their fastest once they drop down to 35%. in my myrm i can permarun my t2 armor repper but cap still drops down to about 35%, it just never drops below that.
ask any drake pilot and theyll tell you their shields do the same exact thing

I have experienced what OP said. I played around with a new ship in EFT a while back that was VERY close on perma cap regen was like (-75.6)(+76.2). I assumed this was close enough to try it since I was in the green. Thankfully based on instinct I tested the perma run before I put it into real combat. Sure enough it failed every single time and eventually dropped to 0 and I lost ability to run all modules. I even tried staggering module turn ons in all kinds ways it still kept failing. Staggering of course does help but when its this close its still not enough.
From that experience I have learned that you want a gap between negative and positive, just being in the green doesn't mean it works. I haven't taken this situation to seriously since then. Rarely am I that close to + to - regen numbers. I'm usually way over or way under rarely ever identical. I have noticed that for my setups its usually around a 5 point gap to allow cap regen to work right.

ok after running the setup while ratting, when it hit around 33% it held there. Thanks to all that posted.
