Hi.
Here is a step by step instruction for how to connect to Singularity. Singularity is a public test server which is used to test upcoming changes and fixes and give developers feedback on these. Feedback is usually posted in the Game Development forum and any bugs are reported via the Bug report system. What is special about the test server is that while you have the same skills as you do on Tranquility, most items are available on the market for 100 ISK.
Read this before you join the server:
Since this is a test server, there are special set of rules. Make sure you read them here: http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=253187
Here is another thread that is very useful to read: http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=46836
Why is this interesting for you?
The current stability issues that most people are experiencing have been addressed in this build and you can try it out together with other cool things and give us feedback before it is put on the Live server Tranquility. We welcome all feedback as it is very important to us!

How to
If you have already installed the EVE Client, skip to step 3
1. Download the Tranquility client: http://www.eve-online.com/download/ 2. Install the Tranquility client 3. Rename your install to "EVE Online TQ" or something of your choice 4. Install another copy of EVE Online, download the client here http://www.eve-online.com/download/ 5. Rename that to "EVE Online Singularity" or something of your choice 6. Go here: http://www.eve-online.com/patches/patches.asp?s=singularity 7. Download the latest Tranquility to Singularity patch 8. Execute it and point it to the install called "EVE Online Singularity" 9. Note that the client you just patch changed name to "EVE Online" again 9. So, rename it to "EVE Online Singularity" again 10. Run the client.
Comments, questions and ideas are very welcome.

The reason why it is pointing at Tranquility is because we are running close to the release of the expansion. If you have this problem, try out the workaround that Hagis McBree provided. That is the proper way of doing it.
Thank you Hagis McBree.

Client should be working again.

Edit: I used eveclassicpatch64451-68655_test-mac.tgz. The version numbers are correct for the EVE version I'm patching.
The client will default to Tranquility. To change this, please add server=87.237.38.50 in your prefs.ini file, which is located in the EVE settings folder.
