about once a month i try getting singularity to work but i've never succeeded due to various problems. :(
once more the patch isn't available for download:
Quote: wget http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/test/mac/eveclassicpatch58188-59364_test-mac.tgz --20:25:24-- http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/test/mac/eveclassicpatch58188-59364_test-mac.tgz => `eveclassicpatch58188-59364_test-mac.tgz' Resolving ccp.vo.llnwd.net... 87.248.216.22, 87.248.218.252 Connecting to ccp.vo.llnwd.net[87.248.216.22]:80... connected. (also waiting for the premium beta...) *sigh*

thanks for putting up the SiSi mac patch again.
test server seems offline right now. but i wonder...
wasn't there an option of some sort that let you enter the server ip in a text input below username/pass instead of changing prefs.ini ?

Originally by: bowindah I've followed these instructions to the letter, the client does not connect to the test server.
According to http://eve-offline.net/?server=singularity the server is up. Any ideas why it just times out?
same here, still haven't got it to connect ever since :( what's the problem here was the testserver just on at tuesday for that testing?
i want to see for myself how the speed/nano optimizations work out.

just updated to 5.11.60497
still unable to connect to singularity :(
really disappointed
- still no premium - still next to zero communication with the users - still fubared textures all over - still no working minimap - still fubared maps in mission details - still no access to test servers to participate in the testing of the upcoming changes - still paying full price for less service

If you have already installed the EVE Client, skip to step 3
1. Download the Tranquility client: http://www.eve-online.com/download/ 2. Install the Tranquility client 3. Rename your install to "EVE Online TQ" or something of your choice (ofc i already had one...reinstalled freshly after i broke my TQ install with the renaming hassle when i tried for the first time some weeks ago)
4. Install another copy of EVE Online, download the client here http://www.eve-online.com/download/ i just made a copy. that should be ok, right?
5. Rename that to "EVE Online Singularity" or something of your choice i left the name "Copy of EVE Online.app" to use it as a backup... 6. Go here: http://www.eve-online.com/patches/patches.asp?s=singularity 7. Download the latest Tranquility to Singularity patch 8. Execute it and point it to the install called "EVE Online Singularity" i just took the "EVE Online.app" since it would rename it back to that name anyway and since i made a backup it shouldn't matter, right? 9. Note that the client you just patch changed name to "EVE Online" again see above, i took the fun out of it because i didn't bother with the renaming :P 9. So, rename it to "EVE Online Singularity" again did so, and renamed my backup to the normal name "EVE Online.app" so my dock icon will still launch the TQ version 10. Run the client. did so, but just to see if it works. it started fine with the correct version i expected from the patch.
i stopped t again and went to "~/Library/Preferences/Eve Online/Preferences/p_drive/Local Settings/Application Data/CCP/EVE/c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility/settings/"
opened "prefs.ini" and added the line server=87.237.38.50 saved it and fired up the SiSi copy... beside the login input fields i then see: Checking Status... ...Server: Test Server (Singularity)... Status unknown now ofc a test server isn't always available so i try a bit later, a day later, a couple of days later. everytime the same. waiting some time to make sure it's not just a matter of time (SiSi never was too responsive back in 2003, and not in 2007 when i once tried from a windows box) but no, waiting for a couple of hours didn't help either.
pushing connect anyway ofc failed (wasn't really expecting anything else but hey, i try everything before i bother posting on the forums).
yesterday i also got a message about some new patch being available (0 MB in size). so i guess there is a new release on SiSi that has no mac patch yet available.
so i posted about that in this forum. i expected some reply like "we have a new release on test servers, be patient the mac patch will be updated soon, devs have been made aware" (see, as being a developer myself i don't expect too much).
but just getting a link to this forum thread as a reply makes me feel a bit angry as it shows to me that i'm not being taken serious. or how should i take that response? :(
