Same problem here. The patched client just quits a second after starting. Someone tell me again why we're paying full price to get half as much as the Windows people....? |

Question for CCP here. What would be so hard about releasing a downloadable version of the client that allows one to start client and connect to SiSi. Better yet, why not make it so that the general client allows you to select when you log in, which server you want to connect to.

Edited by: Falbyla on 04/11/2008 22:18:15 I'm using the EVE version without the latest patch as that make the game unplayable for me due to very frequent crashes.
I've patched this version for Sisi today and it went well.
Launching the freshly patched-for-Sisi version I see two icons of EVE in the dock as usual, and then it just quits.
What can I do to help solve this so I can test on Sisi again? |

Edited by: Falbyla on 05/11/2008 23:01:49 Instead of "Incompatible (Protocol)" the patch I just applied to a fresh copy of EVE without the horrible patch now says "Incompatible (Release)". Help?
Edit: I used eveclassicpatch64451-68655_test-mac.tgz. The version numbers are correct for the EVE version I'm patching.

The client will default to Tranquility. To change this, please add server=87.237.38.50 in your prefs.ini file, which is located in the EVE settings folder.

Singularity patch 70682, Mac OS 10.5.5:
When I patch my EVE application to Singularity 70682 and try to run it, I get the following error: Your EVE client installation may have modified, damaged or corrupt files. Please re-install the game client file C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\Microsoft.VC80.CRT\Microsoft.VC80.CRT.manifest not found. file C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\Microsoft.VC80.CRT\msvcm80.dll not found. file C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\Microsoft.VC80.CRT\msvcp80.dll not found. file C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\Microsoft.VC80.CRT\msvcr80.dll not found. file C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\dbghelp.dll not found. Verification failed: "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\bin\python25.dll", crc:c274959c, expected:86a369c0.
I checked the "normal" (Tranquility) client, and the EVE Online.app/Contents/Resources/transgaming/c_drive/Program Files/CCP/EVE/bin/Microsoft.VC80.CRT directory does not even exist.
Has anyone been able to get around this problem?

At the moment I get a black screen. Nothing to see. I run multiple clients so maybe that is confusing things (the TQ client is doing the same thing now ).

I get the message, cannot apply the patch; please re-install.
I get the feeling that this is because I am downloading a patch for version 71655 when my client is already 72263.
Also, after I click the download button for the singularity patch, on the sidebar, it moves back to Tranquility (live) as the webpage selection.
Thank you, and I look forward to your prompt action.

Okay, I followed the instruction here, including changing the prefs.ini file to point to the test server. That was described as "the proper way to do it". Maybe so, but it's a kludge. Why have two copies of the client, both using the same .ini file? It works, but now when I want to go back to tranquility, I have to manually edit that file again. And again to go back to Singularity. That is just the kind of pain in the ass that a well designed program would avoid. Also, it makes me wonder why, assuming my reading of this thread is correct, when the two servers are at different patch states, I don't need to do this - or do I?
