If the coalition's support continues to wane the way it has been, BoB won't be removed from its space. But it will never recover all that's been lost. If you continue to see three-shift coverage and pushes at BoB, they will lose their space.
BoB had gotten artificially too large for the amount of space it could control. The POS mechanics before allowed you to spam as many towers as you wanted and could afford to take a system. With that system removed, you can't rely on wealth and logistics backed up with a single timezone F-off fleet.
Eve's just a different game now because of the POS mechanics shift. You need at least two-shift presence to take and hold vast amounts of space and a higher density in that space to hold it against attack. Goons like to make a big deal of Titan changes, but they haven't really been that big a deal.
Goon, RA, TCF, IAC, MC, Tri, etc., their space isn't being held by brilliant PvP prowess, it's being held because nobody's attacking them. There's nobody to attack them.
The old mechanics made it to easy to take and hold space by spamming POSes. Now, the game is a bit too reliant on timezone coverage to be healthy. CCP needs to find a way for people across timezones to engage strategically. The Pacific TZ will always be the lowest population. So any force that can gather a significant number of Pacficers and North Americanos is going to have a base advantage that will trump things like economic superiority, skill concentration, or even overall numbers. But there just aren't enough Pacificers to go around.
BoB is a relic of an old era in Eve where alliances could focus in a single timezone. There are other alliances that are primarily Euro that are going to get knocked over in due time.
