Way back when UO was first starting out, there was a way to make flask relative cheap and lag people around you. OSI did not consider this an exploit until several folks went out of their way and created tons of flask in bank areas(central location for people to congregate) and created black holes to where clients would not load (yes, client/server lag existed back in 1997.) Emergency patch later, it was 'fixed.'
If you want suicide ganking to change/stop, you have to take it to extreme. Form/organize groups to hunt down CNR, faction fitted or not. Use faction torpedo to bring down those 800k+ m3 fully loaded ships. Make it so it would be insane to transport anything valuable to/from Jita or hunt in faction fitted bs in motsu. Motto will be, anything over 500mil dies. Sure you'll take a loss sometimes, but what is the price of freedom from suicide ganks?
Until then, sit back and enjoy the show, because no amount of whining will make CCP change their stand on suicide ganking. |

here's a better way to solve it:
Next time someone whines that his AFK ship full of/fitted with valuable stuff got ganked, ban him as well. As well as being extremely funny, this might be the extra incentive required for idiots to actually LOOK AFTER THEIR STUFF.
This idea is so obviously perfect that I win EvE, and this thread is over.
CONCORD provide consequences, not safety; only you can do that. |

I left before tramel, old school dread here. Before most even discovered covetous or crossroads.
Point is, there should be no whining, only doing. If the guy you just tried to suicide gank live or got away, write down his name, start a list. Chances, he'll be back in the same ship. Sooner or later, lady luck is going to run out and dps/math will win.
Key here is organize. Get with friends/enemies and form groups. Start a corp based solely on suicide gank. It's not rocket science what these guys are doing. Create a how to on step by step starting char with training time to be able to fly a caracal fully gank fitted. Fund a start up organization to harass mission runners. Do something, anything, but for godsake, stop crying about getting ganked and how it's not realistic or an exploit or how insurance is not working/being exploited. I would think by now, most of you know how CCP operate. |

I'd like to know why people keep billing suicide ganks as a major problem and an exploit when CCP have stated that they don't see it as either of these things.

this is why i moved some high value items in a supertank caldari BC once. sure it could still have been suicided but the number of BS required to do so wouldnt have been worth the cargo. not to mention im guessing BCs arent scanned as much by suicide squads as say a Badger Mk II.

I think people are missing the new trend thats about to take off around high sec level 4 missioning areas, who gives a flying **** about afk haulers/can flipping hulks when you and 5 of your friends can suicide gank a officer fitted mission runner and be set for the next month.
I believe the same as you do Zryxt, its going to have to get allot worse before it gets any better. If i wasnt such a nice guy (lazy bastard) id be camping Aramachi with a few friends right now getting my share of the spoils while i can. (/progaganda)

CCP is already to soft on empire carebears.
Unfortunately, these little isk farming lag machines make up the vast majority of the characters online.
Still, go play wow if you want to pick flowers, CCP have to at least pretend to leave some of the "cold dark world" bit in there..

Here's how to discourage suiciding: Remove the reward.
Make the drop from a player wreck that results from an action that CONCORD responded to result in another CONCORD response if someone other than that player or his corp/alliance/group loots it.

Solve it? !#@!# that, these guys are doing Eve a service!
By the way, could you guys swing by Emolgoran... i see a ton of CNR's in that area pimping the best minimatar agent in high sec. They should die more to decrease my lag so I can run missions in my crappy T1/T2 fitted ship. (this is not a jok, please come and kill folk here I have been passive scanning some ships and I have seen quite a bit of faction...)
k thanks!

If you're using your faction ship for anything other than smashing other players' ships to pieces, then really i have to say that you don't have the moral high ground if you get ganked in high sec.
